| i can't say that i have had much luck with either www.Edmontonjobshop.com or www.monster.ca. my resume is a mile long, and it's still not worth getting a call for an interview. that's after 15 months of looking. |

ugh..i really don't feel like working the rigs again....i'd rather be home everynight and enjoy my life rather than staying in camp and hating life haha
thanks, i'll give those a shot
is it fairly hard to find a decent job paying 14/hour or so? |

| If you look around there are lots of places in Edmonton that pay over $14/hour for labour type work. Try the Government job bank. |

are you looking more for manual labour>? If so there are alot of warehouses hiring, the higher paying ones pay close to 14$/hr. If you don't mind seasonal work/ working outdoors I heard the city(of Edmonton) is hiring workers to do outdoor maintenance (cut/water grass, plant trees, etc...) that pays close to 14$. Some of my friends also do construction which pays ~15$/hour.
What kind of experience do you have? |

One of the reasons you're not getting a call is because your resume is a "Mile Long." Employers dont want to take their time reading through more then a 1.5 pages at the most. You need to be direct and straight to the point. If you're say 28 (Just picking some number) years old and you put down that you worked at Mcdonalds (Just a random place) when you were 18 they could really care less about that. They want to know what jobs you've had that are related somehow to the one you are applying for.
Just my 0.02 cents. |

| it's all realated. thats my problem, im a specialist in like 3 fields. ive tried tailoring the resume that's being submitted for whatever job, like just my chem plant experience for chem plants, and just computer support for helpdesks, but it seems to make no difference. |

Summerize keep it to a maximum of three pages including your cover letter. Its true also when you submit your resume online the databse utilizes key word searches just think the number of resume's being submitted at telus or any other company so to application pulls resume's with key words like "team work, initiate change ect." |

| The grocery warehouse on 170st just before you come in to St. albert is hiring. I seen a sign outside that they are. They start at 13.08/hour with an 0.80 cent shift differential so you be at $13.88 starting. Not to bad to get you moved in to the city and working for pretty close to what you are making now. |
