Hey all, ok so what i am doing tommorow is i am goin to change my shifter to put in a short shifter in my supra...so when i do can i add gear oil into the top mount and pour it in since it will be open after i take the shifter assmebly out?like right now i know that the tranny gear oil is 2/3 full est. and i am wondering if i can do that since it will be easier to do rather than goin under the car take a bolt off and such...thanks

yes you can add fluid there, but don't get any on your interior or the smell will never come out.

that is actually the easiest place to add fluid.

Thats how I did mine. How will you know when it is full? The common method is to open the filler bolt and fill it to that level.

I don't know if there is a major problem if you over fill the tranny. Will it pop seals? I am not sure, can someone answer this?

leave the car on fairly level ground, i'd just change all of it instead of adding, unless its leaking anyways. open the drain hole, add 3 litres or so then watch for when it starts to come out the filler hole, i think they take 3.X something, if you have book it will tell you.
