It's not my first time at Piccolino's, but thought I'd share my experience for others. I know I always find restaurant reviews helpful...
Piccolino's - 9112 - 142st
At first glance, it looks like any other restaurant from the outside - it's in a bit of an "upscale" neighbourhood, but other than that looks like any other restaurant.
The minute I walked through the door I was greated by a gentleman who shook my hand, asked if I had reservations (Which I didn't) and then lead us to our table. It was a Tuesday night @ ~5pm so it was pretty quiet in the restaurant.
The menu is the traditional Italian cuisine (Only "non-Italian" food was steak) - and the wine list contained quite a few Italian wines (If you're into that). Prices were extremely reasonably - with pasta going from $9 - $13 and the entree's ~$13 - $21. I think the pasta is homemade too...
So we made our order - my gf had the lasagna, I had the fettuchine alfredo. Our food came out within a reasonable time and came in large servings. Delicious is the only word to describe their food.
When it came time for dessert neither of us wanted to order, but when the waiter mentioned homemade cheesecake, we had to share a slice.
The cheesecake was more of a traditional kind, very creamy inside. It was amazing cheesecake - I'd rate it on par with the Cheesecake Cafe cheesecake (But a completely different taste as it didn't use sour cream like the Cheesecake Cafe).
With the cheesecake, my gf had a Mochachino - which she said was even better than the stuff at second cup.
All in all, the bill came to $31 with tax for a meal that tasted just as good, if not better, than any other Italian food I've had in the city.
When we got up to leave, the manager came by to talk to us, make sure everything was good and wish us well. A perfect ending...
And they offer takeout as well - as there always seemed to be someone coming in and leaving with a bag of food.
Reservations are recommended - as we were leaving they were turning people away at the door who didn't have them (This was a Tuesday night @ ~6pm). We got in without them, but we also came ~5pm....
Price: 5 out of 5
Food: 5 out of 5
Selection: 4 out of 5
Ambiance: 3.5 out of 5 |

| Great place, go there all the time since its barely 3 blocks from my house. Never had any problems ever and never had anything but a great meal, highly recommended, and try the pasta diavolo if you like spicy. |

Yea i also hit up that spot frequently good food, anyone ever eaten at The Blue Pear? If you want a really nice fine dining experience with a girlfriend or what not its the place to go:). $60 a person and u get 5 courses. Sounds pricey but whatever the food is fabulous and has been ranked in the top 3 restaurant's in edmonton before.
P.s: i work there, but i don't want your money, just for you to have a good time :D |

| It's ok, nothing special. Very slow service, unspectacular food. Try Chianti's on Whyte for good pasta. |

Really?
I thought the food at Piccolinos was much better than Chiantis (Who has those great lunch specials) |

I agree.
Chianti's and Fiore's are as far from authentic as you can get. The whole place is run by chinamen!
GTSJeff who is Chinese himself.
