i was thinking, the guys at Apex have seen me a round a couple times so i asked them about maybe a dyno day for us, he said he be more than happy to arrange something, now i know theres not a lot of us here but i'm just throwing the idea out there. maybe for next spring or something, since i know at least a couple of us are going to be doing some mods over winter.
just a though.

Hi Supra Devil,
I would be interested in this. What sort of pricing would we be looking at? I imagine that it would be dependant on how many cars we get but mark me down as a confirmed unless something happens.

cost me $60 bucks for 3 regular runs $100-110 for a wideband, which was a deal cuz i did the other one not long ago. obviously we would have better rates than that. so it would depend on:
1) amount of people and runs
2) wideband or normal runs, wideband would be an advantage for turbo guys
3) i imagine we could get a better deal if we play around with the time too, maybe a thursday or friday instead of a weekend, but thats hard for a lot of you.
if there is enough interest i will talk to travis, i've talked to him many times so he knows my face and my car etc. |

Great deal Supra Devil,
I would be up for that near the end of this season. By that time my motor would be broken in and I could get a baseline for the next years mod comparison.
Weekdays will not be a problem for me if we plan far enough ahead to book time off.
If I have this right Wideband would only be an advantage if we had some sort of tunning ability on our car. eg. safc, emanage, tech3. If we are stock ECU wideband may not be needed on all turbos for now. Anybody confirm this for me?

the wideband could tell you if you have enough fuel to add a some more boost, if you have the fuel then you can make more boost, yes it would be more of an advantage for those with some tuning adjustment.
i figured maybe for next spring cuz it gives us lots of time to get it set up, or maybe this fall for a baseline if people want. |

Mike, why is it that I haven't been able to get you attend one of our dyno days (Z Club) for the last two years, but all of a sudden you're jumping at this? What happened to your Nissan loyalty? :p
The next Z Club dyno day is scheduled for June 25th btw. |

Mark me down for the one on the 25th. Later in the afternoon around 4:00 pm would be great!
The reason why I could not attend the first one is I put my summer tires on the Sentra just before the May Snow storm I ended up bouncing of two curbs and broke my steering rack. :lol:
Last year I wanted to Dyno the Supra but I could not as I was still waiting for the Stainless Steel braided Oil feed and return line. That was delayed for 4 weeks.
This year I am in for sure. I had thought that all the spots were taken for the Dyno. If there is one open for me on the 25th of June after 4:00 pm, mark me down.

I'm up for a dyno day this fall, or sooner even. I dyno'd with the n-e-c-c boys last week (164whp, 237wtq) and have some ideas I'd like to try. Weekdays are OK, as long as I have enough lead time to book a day off work.
Simplest tuning method so far for my car- adjustable fuel pressure regulator. When in open loop under power afr is variable with tweaks to fuel pressure. I've been playing with it this week and the car feels better now than ever. Love to see if a dyno confirms this! |

k, well i would like to get a number then, figure out how many people want to go and what kind of availability there is so i can schedule a good time for everyone. i'd like to try and get something settled by the next meet if you want it in the next month or so.

I agree. More vehicles they run, the more business they have. I would be curious to see what I am putting down on a CT26 and then again with my turbo upgrade! :D It will give me a good baseline to gauge where I am at and where I am going.

That was my plan...really.
It worked out that was time for our monthly meet and I have the Friday off. Of course this all depends on availability of the shop.

OK, just so i can be sure please send me a PM confirming if you are going and telling me if your going to bring other people, i wanted to talk to Travis at APEX by Tommorow or Friday, sometimes scheduling is needed 1-2 weeks in advance. So Night Font if your brother is coming please confirm, i am going to talk to my neighbour to see if hes up for that date, and i need to talk to Travis to see if its got openings and for what time of day.
Also what do you guys want for time? morning, afternoon, evening. i know some of you guys work. |

Tips I found:

#5 Always listen to the dyno operator they want to protect your engine and will at all costs try and prevent a blowup or see an accident.
#6 Have your fuel system in good repair and a full tank of fuel. I can't tell you how many hours have spent troubleshooting someones car due to negligence of maintenance.
#7 No that a dyno is pushing your motor just like racing at the track. Mechanical things break and things happen fast just be prepared for anything.

yes they have a fan, it is a mustang dyno, i was going to talk to Travis tonight, he should be there in a few minutes actually, then i will ask, i only have 4 of us for sure right now, my neighbour is a maybe if the car gets back together, Got Boost and Sentara i am not sure, they both want to but i haven't received any confirmation.
The others there have been no word from, i am going to double post this on the Supra site in case they are there more often. |

| As it is now we may be pushing it for scheduling because the book in advance for a week or 2. i am hoping to get it so we can start at 1 and have everyone show up by 2ish so that we can get it done timely and not waste time, i know a couple people have said that earlier is better so hopefully that will let them go and i can put my car in wherever to fill in a gap. i hope to talk to them in detail tommorow, we have at least 5 people of we can go earlier maybe more by then if their is still openings. |

Tuesday to Friday are never good for me. I might be able to make it down for a Saturday afternoon slot say around 4 or 5 pm? Even in the evenings is fine. I may get dyno'd with the Z club so my post may be mute. Then again, If I pop another turbo I do not think I will be doing a dyno at all. :lol:
