| I took my parents vehicle to a party one night and had 3 friends with me, the police broke up the party and as everyone was leaving someone yelled "pig" (wasnt in my vehicle) and as i was driving away a police officer did a donut and cut me off, he came over to my window i rolled it down and said "hello officer" and he said to me "shut up fuck face and give me your license" so i gave it to him and he started shining his flashlight in everyones eyes and told us all to get out of the truck. So we got out of the truck and he told us to put our hands up on the box and he searched us, he then told us to stand there and not move as he searched my parents vehicle. He didnt find anything of course but he told me and my friend to get into his police car, i hadnt had anything to drink that night and he was yelling at my friend sitting next to me, he must of had us in the car for close to 15 minutes while my other friends were standing there with their hands still on the box of the truck. He was just swearing at us, he would ask us a question then tell us to "shut the fuck up" he let me go but hauled my friend to the police station and had his father come pick him up. Ever since then i feel nervous everytime i see a cop car even if i am not doing anything wrong. There was a time where i was even filling up gas and a police car pulled in in front of me and another behind me and they told my friend to get out of the car and they went around my vehicle trying to find any little thing that was wrong with it they even told my friend to get out of the car while they looked inside. Is there anything we can do about this stuff? being a person who hasnt done anything wrong i shouldnt be treated like this but just because they are RCMP i feel helpless. |

| sounds like he was on a real power trip seems some cops are just ass holes as threre are ass holes in ever field. I guess you just have to take the good with the bad. Likely you would not be able to get his badge number as every time you spoke he told you to shut the fuck up but I would have got his squad car number and filed a complaint. |

GroundZeroTalon;
I'll be the first to admit that this type of reaction from the member was very unprofessional & totally uncalled for. There are a couple of options if you wish to make a formal complaint against the member:
1) Go to the local detachment & ask to speak w/ the member's supervisor. If you aren't sure who the member was just state the date / time & as mentioned previously the car number (or make for that matter - Impala, Crown Vic etc). The supervisor will ask a few questions & record some details. He will have to speak w/ the member & hopefully the issue can be resolved.
2) If you feel you cannot go to the local detachment you can always contact the RCMP Public Complaints Commission (website URL included). They will contact the RCMP & the complaint will be forwarded to the member's supervisor or a complaint investigator (TV shows call them Internal Affairs or IAD).

FYI: One thing I would like to add ... I had one complaint against me where a driver stated I acted similar to the member you spoke of. When my supervisor asked me for my side of the story I just gave him the video tape of the incident complete w/ audio & let's just say that's as far as it went. I'm not sure what incident the driver was talking about but it definitely wasn't the one involving me. I felt like making a complaint against him for Public Mischief (having a peace officer enter into a false investigation) but I figured I didn't want to start a spitting contest (or any other type for that matter). Not all cars have video recorders but I say they all should!! It is for both for the safety of the public & the member as well as for Court purposes. Just because I didn't make a complaint against the driver doesn't mean I wasn't able to. I just felt that my time was better spent on other more important things.

Was it St. Albert RCMP, theres a couple of guys there that have it out for anyone that is younger than them.... He's got a heavy french accent and is always rude... I just started ignoring him when he "talks" to me and converse with a reasonable officer or anyone else (also with the exception of the pigheaded... no punintended... receptionist!).... they're EVIL!!!!!
I think officers get so much abuse from us that when they finally get somebody that's nice they take it out on us thinking we're being sarcastic or something! |

i've gotten that french dude in st.albert before!!...
i wasnt even doing anything (i took the car for a spin after installing some gauges), and he comes flying in front of me and parks. Asks for my license and stuff and then 15 mins. let me go.
I asked him a couple of questions and he was very rude. I highly respect cops, as my brother just got accepted into the RCMP, but i am slowly starting to lose my respect for them. |

| well, you guys sould take a trip out to my neck of the woods(beaumont) on a friday or saterday night, the cops out here will pull you over for just drivin, ask what your doin and follow you, theres about 4 car thefts out here every weekend and not 1 person has ever been caught, in a town of about 6000 ppl you would think that this donsnt happen. There used to be sum really bad police officers out here that would slap you a ticket for almost anything to keep there jobs. but anyway, in not raggin on any of the city police, mostley just the Beaumont police division  |

just wondering
would it be a good idea to ask for the officer's name and badge number? or will that just make the matter worse?
also, if enough people started file legitimate complaints about the same officer, surely something would be done. it seems like officers are banking on the fact the last you thing you would do is lodge a formal complaint |

That french guy from st albert, there is only one, he is a such an ASSHOLE (sorry it had to be said). He stopped me for noisy exhaust and claimed he'd impound my car and stuff like the day after I had it inspected... I showed him all the documents that said it was factory ad that's how the car is and he let me go, that took like 30 minutes. He's such a prick that he even stalks me and two friends, he'll drive by my place just to see if he can ticket my car for something to do, and I swear this is not a lie! He gave me a parking ticket once and then wouldn't explain why, I had to talk to another officer who was amazingly nice and he explained, apparently Iwas actually in the wrong but the point being the french guy was just a jerk about it.... My one friend worked for a concession stand in St Albert over the summer that was broken into, and he phoned the police and the french guy came and tried to arrest him for the b&e..... it's ridiculous!
Then on top of that there's this rent a cop that is worse, he'll stop a friend of mine for anything, practically including breathing! It's insane how they treat you when you prove them wrong! Right Inglewood!
Like when I was in my accident the officer that came out to the scene was amazingly nice... he's been pretty good about everything so far, and the rest of the st albert detachment are pretty good.... there are just two cops out of how many there that are so unreasonable + the bylaw guy, who isn't even a real officer as far as I'm concerned!
Sorry for all the useless ranting here, I know it's not all cops/officers, most do their jobs well and leave people alone unless they have a reason to get in the persons face! BTW I've never had a bad experience with an edmonton or other city officer ever, never even been pulled over anywhere else but st albert and that's mostly at checkstops in my dads TL, I think they see me driving a $40K ride and find that suspicious! Oh well! |

Pull your nine and let him have it... or wait no thats a bad idea..
You can actually walk up to any cop and say HEY there.. IN MY OPINION.. all cops are pigs..
as long as you state its your opinion.. they can't do anything to you.. make sure you don't make to much noise because they could say you were desturbing the peace or something BS like that.. Personally I don't have issues with the police.. I have found 99% of the cops here in edmonton to be great.. Walking home from a party one of my friends had a beer with him.. my house was about a block from the party.. ya this is a no no.. a cop car came by.. the just pulled over.. didn't even get out of the car.. just said hey buddy no booze on the street. dump it ok.. totally poite.. so he did.. Then again I have another friend that they took down to the station for the night is sherwood park for exactly the same thing.. I personally would take my chances with any city cop over a RC is sherwood park.. they are.. EVIL to say the least.. |

| is that bylaw officer from st albert some fat guy? he gave me the tinting ticket and a speeding ticket for doing 5 over the speed limit! he will sit in a phone booth outside my school wait till cars go by op in his car and ticket them for bogus noise violations. They stuck a stop sign in the middle of our school parking lot one day, nobody even knew it was there and the next day he sat on the other side of the road with a 2 way and had other cops pull over kids for rolling stops when the kids didnt even know there was a stop sign!!! |

Wouldn't want to put time and effort into fighting the drug problems there! In my opinion thats a poor use of funds! |
