I'd like to recommend a domestic muscle shop, but they'll instantly want to rebuild. I had a $500 quote at one place to just open it up.
JD Car Care. Definetely an honest shop.
Check your PM for my first recommendation - I don't want to post it on a public forum because the guy doesn't do cars unless it's a special case.... |

Worst move you can make.
The Q-Jet can handle 750-770CFM, which is more than enough to handle 400+HP.
You'll spend more buying another carb and getting all the adaptors than fixing yours right. A rebuild kit is $30-40. |

| thanks for the advice... i bought a book on the q-jet and am going to give it a nice rebuild. IS the rebuild itself dificult? how long does it take? (havent even started the book yet) |

To disassemble - 5-10 minutes.
To reassemble - 5-10 minutes.
Cleaning would take time - but it's not hard work. |

Yeah.. I need the timing adjusted on my 318, electronically controlled Carb'd car.
I've done timing before.. but I don't see the bolt to loosen the distro to spin it to adjust the timing.
I'm gonna be doing plugs/wires/air-fuel filters this weekend.
I'm getting over 20mpg(us)24mpg(imp) but it idles rough, I think it runs rich and is occationally misfiring or something. |
