Damn I am so addicted to the Initial D Arcade game, and now I just found out that they are making an initial D game for the PS2 (in Japan anyway).

That game is so fun, I just got to Bunta last night in his WRX...Man is he hard!!!

I'd like to play that game... I wouldn't mind watching inital d though, everything up to the movie, in English.... I've watched all the vcds and they've been in japanese with chinese subtitles.... right now it's abit hard to understand them... hell i hvaen't even started my chinese classes!!!!!

What's with the attitude of the FOBs that play the game? So I took a yellow Mitsu Evo VII instead of the game's ringer cars (AE86 Trueno or RX-7 Type R FD or something like that)... I don't care if you have 1,000,000 points on your RX-7 and you've renewed your card 394893 times... just shut up and let me crash my EVO into the rails! Sheesh... Stupid FOBs...

Apparently there's a version 2 out. The Integra Type R DC2 version is apparently so tricked out at stock that it can kill anyone on Hippogahara...

Cheapest place to play is Kingsway ($1) but you have to put up with the FOBs. Where do you play?

What do you mean what's the reaction of the FOBs? They have that usual "I'm better than you" look and scoff at my car with 7400 points (only played 5 times) while they whip out their card with $100s spent on it. Maybe it's time to get a mag reader and hack that damn game. :)

I'm Chinese.

Right now I play at the high run club off capilano.

I was forced to play at west edmonton mall recently because the high runs machines needed some servicing and kingsway was closed to early.

Mods don't have to too much to do with it if you are VS someone. The game automatically compensates and give the slower car a handicap so it can keep up.

The key to the game is entering the corner as fast as possible without touching the walls and still exit the corner and a decent speed...

So far I have the fastest times on 2 machines at West-Ed for the Effini III RX-7 (FC) going downhill on Akina, 3 minutes 7 seconds. Although the fastest recorded time so far in the world is 2 minutes and 51 seconds....I am NOT spending the kind of cash to practice for that crap.

(BTW I am pretty much done playing now, I beat all the levels, including the BUNTA charachter in his WRX [like in the "stage 4" mangas] )

Only spent $60-$75 to beat the whole game too.

It will be on PS2 soon I hope. They are releasing the game in Japan on PS2 on March 26th this year. It usually takes a year to get here, but hopefully they release it here around the same time.

I haven't played arcade games in sooo long, but this game was pretty fun if you enjoyed the initial d series.

(The PS2 game has story mode which is based on the 3rd stage movie, and then also the arcade mode as it is on the arcade machines.) It is a pain in the #$@#% to try to understand a semi-translated japanese website. They (gaming companies) seem to always release all the info on the japanese websites first, and then on english ones later.

Oh well...guess that is their right...they did after all make the game.

dogstar
guess this means i have to go play...
pretty bad, i work in kingsway and i didnt even know they had it there.

lol, oh well, no one knows everything.
