He states his tools of the trade as "3D Studio MAX - Photoshop - AutoCAD - CorelDRAW - buttload o'skillz". :D 42 years worth of skills. The cool thing is, other than the photo backgrounds, he does all of his scenes entirely from scratch. from the texture of every brick to the grease spot on the street.
