Decent HP? - Click HERE for Original Thread

red88.n/a.rx
Well my cars broken in good so I decided too dyno it and see how much power its making. Now im not sure if I should be happy, disapointed or just in between.

Mods:
-Rebuilt s4 6 port motor
-large street port
-removed air pump
-removed 5th/6th port actuators
-hks intake
-pacesetter headers
-custom single exhaust 2 1/2 inch pipe
-walbro fuel pump

I only got one run as it was kinda a favor because they didnt have alot of time but I have 150.6hp too the wheels and torque is messed up for some reason.

Max Power : 150.6 @ 81.3MPH
Max Torque: 328.6 @ 73.9MPH:confused:

let me know if thats any good:dunno:

You have an electric motor in that thing?

And I don't know what else to say, 150 at the wheels is ok but I think possibly you might have been expecting more. What are you using for management?

red88.n/a.rx
Yes i was expecting more..... as for management nothing just stock

PraxRX7
Max Torque: 328.6 @ 73.9MPH

If thats on your RX-7 I think the reading is a bit...well....way off.

red88.n/a.rx
thats what i said

PraxRX7
they probably didnt set the ignition to RPM rotation properly

ehrgeiz
What dyno and who was operating it. The dyno graph would be of help. Also what gear was the pull done in?

4kruzn
just for reference Karls rx3 wagon has run a best of 13.3 and i believe that his motor laid down only about 180hp to the wheels so...

with a less than perfect single exhaust and running thro completely stock FI system i would say that your numbers are quite good. factory stock on that car are only 146 hp at the crank

red88.n/a.rx
Yah your right about the less than perfect exhaust conroy :)

I guess I need better exhaust , standalone , safc , and a couple other little extras and I might gain a couple more horses if I want ....but thats more $$$ I dont want too spend on this car. Needs too much work!!

As for who dynoed it... some guy from Derrick Dodge they have a dyno there and my uncle is one of the managers so. It was a mustang dyno, he tried in 3rd gear but had too use 4th.

edmrx7
ah, those guys don't know what they are doing with that dyno... I went there with my streetport 13B, racing beat header, 2 1/2" exhaust, and they figured my car had 87hp.... and we ran it on that dyno 5 times I think.

Richard.

I agree with you edmrx7 the guy didnt seem too know what he was really doing at all it was just a rush thing he didnt care about and im kind of disapointed.

No offense but you also need to do some research.
Standalone AND an SAFC????
;)

I think you'll benefit more from just the SAFC than a standalone.

Well actually I ment either/or but I was just in a rush but yah SAFC makes more sense since I doubt I will ever turbo it.

Coo, my bad :D

I think some tuning will help bring in some HP.

Not too familiar with the requirements of a street port but with the extra air going into the combustion chamber, I think you would need some extra fuel as well?
Have you done any fuel mods? (pump, injectors, FPR, etc)

Also, you can play with the timing.
Make it a little more aggressive (advance the timing?) and you could prbly get a few more ponies.

:dunno:

Famous last words? Soon to be followed by the sound of keys shaken in a coffee can? :)
