| umm how good are Phoenix Gold Subwoofers compared to top of the line JL or Alpine subs or what kind of subs can match Phoenix Gold Subwoofers?:dunno: i don't know much when it comes to car audio. |

| I would say they are comparable to JL subs. The W0 JL subs are pretty good. I think they pound pretty hard. Alpine subs are also good, but tend to be a little better sound quality instead of sheer sbl. W0 JL subs can go up to 1000 watts, and if you have the power to juice them would provide serious jam. The phoenix gold subs (in my opinion) are one of the best subs on the market. These subs were around $250 to $300 each brand new and were the best subs they put out at the time (now 2 or 3 years old). With the Pioneer amp I have, they are ridiculously loud if you want it to be. In a 300 ZX (hatch back if I am correct), you would probably hit upd to 140 DB's if installed correctly, more if you want. Hope this helps, let me know if you need any more clarification. They are dual voice coil, and can easily handle a 2 ohm load. |
