I was looking at getting the Alpine CDA-9833 head unit, but discovered today that its discontinued and the 2005 line-up is already out. D'oh... should've known. That's fine and all, except the equivalent model in the new line-up no longer has 4V preouts (the 9853) so I'd have to step up another $100 to get the 9855.
Should I keep looking to see if any shops still have 9833's (on clearance sale even?), before deciding whether to fork out for the newer models?

Your chances are pretty slim.
Try Audio FX on 101st street. I got my Alpine there, decent service, skilled installers and ok prices.
AB tends to have old Alpine stock kicking around.
