Chiropractor - there's a reason it's spasming and you'll need a professional that specializes in soft tissue, and no one takes more education in it than a Chiropractor.
PM me if you want a referal to a good one that I've used. |

Sounds to mee like your neck is too cold while you work out. Or maybe you over did it and bent the wrong way. I get pains EVERY time I work out and after years I figure its just feeling the burn. No pain no gain just check over your tecniques , dont over extend dont hyper extend always stretch first and dont do it if your tired.
See your doctor before you see a chiropractor or you may regret it. (take it from somebody whos old with a bad back)
I found robaxisols work great next day I feel like mighty hurkuleeeeese! Stay away from cortesone! |

I used get that.
Make sure you fully stretch out before go hard. And remember to not hold your breath when you stretch or your muscles will starve for oxygen as you stretch. |

Your could be pinching off nerves. My sister is a chiropractor and a massage therapist. I used to get that all the time as well and she said I was pinching off nerves in my neck. When your muscles get bigger she said that can become a problem. My neck and shoulders got alot bigger and when I sleep on my side at night the muscle mass pinches off nerves and my arm goes to sleep.
Also could be strained muscles as well.
A few things to, see if you are doing these things and stop them. Clenching your jaw, or forcing it out when lifting. Sticking your head forward with force when lifting. Or if your doing say a shoulder press make sure you dont turn your head to the side, keep it straight forward.
I used to get a pinch that hurt like a son of a bitch under my shoulder blade and it was because whenever I would do shoulder press I would turn my head to one side when pushing. One i figured that out and stopped it I stopped the problem.
just a few things to see |

If that's the Roger I sent ya - you won't find anyone better - and he's very reasonably priced.
Also - on the topic of form you might as well take a timeout and look at all your form. I've seen a lot of people squat looking down, which is a big no-no. |
