Pretty sad how this story turned out. Dont give me any bullshit about officer safety, the officer panicked over a puppy. They should have closed the door, but that would make sense. What is trainging for? I know I wasen't there and I truly don't know the whole story, but I beleive the officers truly didn't do thier job right. The dog wasen't a threat in the car, not enough to close the door obviously. When the puppy runs out(what did they expect?) and does what a puppy does an officer panickes. To bad one idiot can ruin the bunch. I dont beleive in that way of thinking at all. But most people unfortunately will think "stupid cops" instead of "stupid cop". |

i dont know if the officer was entirely at fault...
if youve ever been seriously bitten by a dog, you remember that kinda thing, and when your dealing with possible robbery suspects who are doing 95 to 110 mph in a 70 zone... well, i think that might make cops jittery.
sorry the dog was shot, but the family should have said "hey, our dogs in the car, dont worry if he jumps out."
musta been messy though, the dog was 1 foot from the muzzle when the cop let fly  :puke: |

From what I have read the family asked them to close the door, so the dog would not jump out. They knew the dog was in the car, from the video and the story it didn't look like they preceived it as a threat.
I agree to a point that the officers acted accordingly, they had a potentially dangerous situation and should have handcuffed them until every thing was sorted out.
I just beleive that after all the time they knew the dog was in the car, and didn't preceive it as a threat. They should have closed the door. It makes sense for thier safety and the dogs. |
