2nd comp wont connect to the net WTF!
i have no idea why it wont work. i set it all up then went and got a router. hooked it all up and nothing will work. i did what the rouders shit said to do to configer and such . still 2nd comp no net iam getting pissed now:mad: :mad: been a thsi for 2 days ! why will this comp work and connect but the send wont! any advise? |

| Try pluggin the internet connection directly into the 2nd comp and see if it works, that would narrow it down to the router, not the computer itself. |

| ok just tired that . no dice. hooke d rigth up to the cable modem . i tried both comps in every port on the router and this one always worked. 2nd one nada. |

:dunno: Did you try hooking each comp up DIRECTLY to the modem without the router being connected? It just sounds like you tried the different ports on the router instead of directly hooking it up.
If your comp doesn't work with the modem directly hooked up then its probably something to do with your network card.
If it does work then it has to do with your router, maybe you didnt configure it properly.:dunno: |

| Chances are you still haven't set your computer up to connect to the net. I know for Telus you have to go to some server and register each computer. |

From the sounds of it, it's not your internet, or even router, but it is the computer. As far as I can tell you plugged the internet connection directly into both of your computers, and the first one worked while the second one didn't indicating that the computer is not set up correctly.
Then again I could be wrong, since you slaughter the english language more then anyone I know.;) |

been up since 530 am was int he sun for 11.5hours doin road constuction . iam to tired to even try and fix my mistakes :p iam jsut goin to try and get praxrx7 to come over and get it work cause i bough it off him. |

| who are you with Telus or Shaw? Cause with most DSL companies you have to register your MAC address. Like someone said above. Try calling your service provider. They should be able to get you up and running pretty quick. |

Bigmack, if thats the computer you got off me, plug it into the internet port on the bottom section! dont plug it into the on-board one, its a POS.
Also you might have to disable your firewall, but do your windows updates first! |

i had a similar problem, called shaw they told me to do the following....(if ur running service pack 2 anyways)
go start--->control pannel--->system--->hardware--->device manager--->network adapters---> and look in there and if there is an x over the icon double click on it and hit enable device..
Worked for me, hope you have the same luck.... |
