Amsoil? - Click HERE for Original Thread

3gEdmonton
My dad used to own a lube shop so we had like cases of oil. Still got 2 boxes of 10-30 Amsoil fully synthetic.. but i usually use 0-30. Anyone know where i can buy 0-30 Amsoil fully synthetic? How much am I looking at? Already tried Walmart and Canadian Tire no luck.. going to try PartSource

Would it be wise for me to go to 10-30 on my next oil change and costantly use 10-30?

I don't think there will be any problems switching up to 10w30 if that is recommended in the owner's manual.

If 0w30 is the standard, I dont' see any benefit in going to 10w30.
At its thickest, it will still be a 30 weight oil.

Going to 10w30 you may even find some loss in fuel efficiency.

As for where to buy Amsoil, see if Fulblown Motorsports sells any, maybe Mopac.
If nothing, I know for sure that Abbey Road Automotive sells it.

Yeah I don't think you'll experience anything really adverse in using 10w30.
But once you get yourself some 0w30, I'd switch back to it.

Yup I know what you mean Terry.. just changed it to 10 -30 and i do feel a diff... next oil change will be going back to 0-30 and keep it constant from now on

Anthony:
I don't want to hijack this thread anymore since it's 1/2 tech & 1/2 "Where To Buy" but could you put up a thread to report the differences you felt in switching to 10w30?

I've got a bit of experience on switching back & forth on oil too since I go from 10w30 to 20w50 in Spring -> Summer :)

Thanks Terry going to do that right now
