What color? - Click HERE for Original Thread

I'm gonna be re-painting my car next summer and I'm looking for a color thats gonna go well with my orange that I have now. I'm removing all the yellow. But I want to know what color should I make my decals next time? Black? White? White w/black trim? any suggestions? Oh and the shark is coming completely off.

I'm not sure which to suggest since I don't know if you plan to paint your entire car, or just the decals, or other?

I prefer black personally, but if you are just repainting decals and leaving entire car orange I'd say go with white decals, or white/grey.

If your painting entire car go with (my preference in this order...) black, midnight blue, pearl white, really dark purple/maroon, sky blue, red(any shade).

Ya I remember learning that too, when I had to do a project on it I used this. Blue definetly compliments orange. Black is nice too but might end up looking like the tony the tiger cruiser if its done wrong.

Definition: Two colors on opposite sides of the colour wheel, which when placed next to each other make both appear brighter. The complementary color of a primary color (red, blue, and yellow) is the color you get by mixing the other two (red + blue = purple; blue + yellow = green; red + yellow = orange). So the complementary color for red is green, for blue it's orange, and for yellow it's purple.

Pros: The complementary color scheme offers stronger contrast than any other color scheme, and draws maximum attention.

Cons: This scheme is harder to balance than monochromatic and analogous schemes, especially when desaturated warm colors are used.

Tips: 1. For best results, place cool colors against warm ones, for example, blue versus orange.
2. If you use a warm color (red or yellow) as an accent, you can desaturate the opposite cool colors to put more emphasis on the warm colors.
3. Avoid using desaturated warm colors (e.g. browns or dull yellows).
4. Try the split complementary scheme; it is similar to the complementary scheme but offers more variety.

bigmack000

Nice!

I recognize the picture of the Civic in the park at the Lethbridge show from last summer because I was the one who took that picture. it's interesting to see my photo pop up somewhere else, and it is a very cool color combination.

I say don't paint your Tibby too dark, because it has so many curves in its body lines. use a medium to light color to make it stand out.
