Who is your insurance company?

CryoVenom
Isnt there something where if the car has it when you buy it, its ok? if there is...you could sell then buy it back, maybe they wont notice :fingersx: or switch insurance comapanies or something?:dunno:

Im with gibbard insurance brokers
- what does EVery one in edmonton. do ?

stealth
No idea man, im stuck in the same position as you.

I told my insurance company I swapped my engine with a turbo one.

They said as long as its not for racing/more horsepower its fine...

I gotta find a new insurance company who will "let me" modify my car.

Flex
Im with meloche monnex, and my car was involved in a hit and run last winter. I dont have a whole pile done just aftermarket front spoiler and grill. The adjuster that came and looked at my car said no problem. They will replace anything on my car exactly the way I have it. And they did......they replaced everything that was damaged whether it was factory or I added it. No hassles at all with it.

this happened too my buddy they told him too get it apraised now that work has been done too it... that makes sense dont you think.

They told you if you get into an accident the body kit is not covered because you are not insured for it and would likely replace with stock parts.

Hey Joe, how much would it cost extra to get the bumper insured? if it's not too too much why not insure it then they would cover it right?...i hope it doesn't cost too much for you buddy. shitty news, and good luck with this.

insurance? thats how u ment to spell it? sorry if u have a learnin disablity im just tryin to understand.

Bodykit = extra weight in most cases and most time if u got a stylin body kit you wont have a ultra fast vehicle. I would take them to court and set a good size law suit. its stereo typin people. My friends got a dope ass Eclipse , bling beyond bling. ANd he is a SLOW ASS mofo cause of it. he looses to my moms stock focus on a h ighway pull LOL . anyways to the point gluck with that, either way its horse shit

n0c7
Most bodykits are fibreglass and I've found them to weigh less than half of stock bumpers? :dunno: Unless your buddy has a complete urethane kit, there wont be any weight added(lost if any change in scale).

i had plenty of oil... it was just spilling OUT of the car, instead of in....
MAN that was scary shit... wish it didn't turn out so bad :(

anyhoo... best of luck with yer insurance whatever... in the future, don't tell yer dad...anything.
And yer not gonna race past the cops, and yer not gonna build a 10 second car either.
well you might, but by the time yer done, you'll be older and wiser.

i dont live with my dad.. he went to his broker wich is mine to. so they talk abit.. then my dads like oo ya he got a kit.. then shes like WHAT.. then on from their .. fuckn gay

Mustard
if he doesn't live with you, wouldn't that make it easier NOT to tell him anything.... :dunno:

sparkycivic
just tell them that he's a liar, and they aren't allowed to believe anything he says about what you do since he is not you.

also, never tell them about anything that you do to the car. it only arouses suspicion in their simple minds... they are brokers, they do not understand anything about how a car works, or what a mod would do for it.

stealth
You may want to ask your insurance comapny if you got in an accident if they would only replace it as an oem peiece.

If so then thats better for you.

Cause i know i got quoted 800$ to get my rear bumper fixed. That is a few hundrred dollars short of a full kit.

90teg
ya guys. forsure. they better pay for a oem. i bet its cheaper to by a after market part then oem. aha . i not telling them anything im doing to my car. I dont even think its their buzz knowen what i put on my car or not.

My insurance company will let me do whatever I want to my car and it does not change a thing.

I'm with meloche monnex also.. but they are very specific when it comes to who they will insure.

I am with them to.. its pretty sweet. Mine is my insurance policy but its threw a group with my parents, which is the only way I could keep them as my insurer.

Huge word

Seriously though, shouldn't the insco cover the car if you tell them what's on it? Furthermore, if you get into an accident they can only deny you coverage if they can prove that the modification was directly involved in causing the accident.

Thats good to know. I'm with Meloche as well and I was curious about how they'd handle it. I've always been wary about asking them in case they jump the gun.
