Hi POX,
As far as I know they are legal. Just slow down near Plunkett Saskatachewan. It is just to the East outside Saskatoon on the Yellowhead. :D

Legal. Check it out here:
http://www.escortradar.com/radar-detector-faq.htm#q2
It says "illegal in most Canadian provinces". But then, look down 2 questions further, it says:
"Puerto Rico and the Canadian provinces Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan are the only places we ship to outside of the United States"
I would tend to take that to mean that AB,BC and SK are the only legal provinces in Canada. They wouldn't ship to SK if it was illegal there. |

I am rather sure that radar detectors are illegal in BC. |

Yes, In Manitoba they are illegal. There are two very large signs on the Yellowhead as you enter Manitoba that tell you they are illegal. I believe the sign reads in big bold letters "The possession of radar detection devices are illegal in the province of Manitoba" I think they tell you this twice incase you miss the first sign or incase one does not believe them. ha ha ha.

| My buddy got stopped about an hour into manitoba and had his radar detector confiscated. Guess they have some way to tell if you've got one. |

| Yeah, a radar detector emits a signal, and a radar detector detector can pick it up. A lot of the cops (in places where they're illegal) have them........ |

VG2 cloaking. use it wisely.
my cobra lasted 2 years before i moved here and the RC's never noticed. the VG2 cutoff circuit in mine tripped a lot of times out of the city of Brandon, in the RCMP's domain. they never cared untill one day my buddy was fucking with it, and turned off the VG2 cutoff, then they fined me. i was only visiting that time so they let me keep it since I lived in Alberta already and i pleaded ignorance with the guy. |

haha,
MB RCMP use Spectre 2.
nothing is invisible to Spectre 2
They used to use VG-2, but upgraded to Spectre 2.
They will sit there with the radar gun off, and detect you over a mile away with your radar detector, flip on the radar gun to get a speed, or else just pull you over. :(
They will confiscate your detector.
I do not use my radar detector in MB on the highway, but use it all the time in the city :)
In Sask the cops are nice and leave their radar guns on all the time it seems. |

Hi The_saint,
Interesting find on the Spectre 2. That I did not know. :D I will remove my detecor when I hit Manitoba. Mine is VG2 Undetectable but that will not help me. ha ha ha.
I found that the RCMP in Saskatachewan are very nice. As for the most part, they do seem to leave the radar on, however watch out near Plunkett Saskatachewan. They tagged me with the "instant on" and used the Ka band width. Also do the limit around the Lanagan area on the Yellowhead. They patrol quite a bit there and use the "instant on". I believe the limit is 100 km/h between Saskatoon and Yorkton.
