you dont have your continuos power hooked up to a continuous source |

| That sounds about right. You need to find power that stays on even if the car is off. If your just installing an aftermarket deck there should already be power there for the factory deck. Use a meter and put one lead on a wire and the other on a ground and see if you have power. One of those wire in the radio harness should be constant power. |

or you can do it even easier and go somewhere and get the harness for your vehicle. Then you connect your new deck wires to your harness, plug your harness you got into your factory harness andyou are done. |

| I guess I was thinking that having the harness was a must, I don't know how you would hook it up with out it. I was thinking maybe he didn't connect the wires from the deck to the harness right. |

Hi trdcelica Here is another option.
Are the other electronics in your car functioning correctly in your car when the car is running and when the car is off?
Perhaps the issue is not a wiring issue, perhaps a battery issue. When your vehicle is running the alternator is supplying a continious source of power to your vehicle and accesories. Hence no issues with your deck.
However when the vehicle is off there the alternator is no longer providing the primary source of power to your accessories.
Do you have other indications of a dead or dying battery such as vehicle hard to start lights are dim when the car is off, etc.
If your battery is fine, then I would agree with the others and say that there is an interuption with the continous supply of power and you need to recheck your wiring.
