i live on the outskirts of beverly just by yellowhead and i park my new car outside..
but given the area and the type of car, you will get it back...some drunky or cracky just took it for a spin, happens everyday in this neighborhood |

They need to verify that the car has been found and returned to the rightful owner, in order to take it off their stolen car lists.
Otherwise, some cop will pull you over, thinking that the car is still stolen. Then, once he's satisfied that you are the rightful owner, he might charge you with insurance fraud.
So, yeah, you need to call them if you find the car, to "call the dogs off". |

| Not necessarily. The insurance company won't pay you out for something like 3 weeks, because most cars are found within that time frame. So, you still got a couple of weeks to hope. |

90% of your insurance cost is PLPD. Theft on a 79 Capri wouldn't have been anywhere near the cost of the PLPD. If it was, you're dealing with the wrong insurance company.
I put comprehensive on all my vehicles, except glass, cause it's not much more than the PLPD.
I don't mean this to sound like I'm throwing salt on your wounds, dude. I realize it's stupid to be told to lock the barn door after the horse is gone......... |

Well for future insurance issues I would suggest talking with your insurance company and seeing what your paying for what services, and definetely get fire and theft so this doesn't happen again.:bthumbup:
