Exhaust Sound - Click HERE for Original Thread

Fergizzo
Once i get my car i intend on puttin a new exhaust on it. Now personally i dont care about the +5hp or what it looks like, all i care about is havin the right sound. Now would the sound depend at all on the specific exhaust i buy? cause if so i wouldn't want to get stuck wit a pipe that sounds like garbage but i mean its not like i can jus go to the garage and be like alrite i want to see what each of these sounds like and ill pick the one i like...

So how would i go about finding the right sounding pipe?. Any help would be much appreciated, thanx.

Avoid buying crap, like a Ractive exhaust. What car will the exhaust be for.

Yes you can go to a exhaust shop and try different mufflers. they dont gotta attach them to hear the sound. phone around see what they got to say.

Most people will Say.. If you want a deep Throaty sound Go with Borla.. BUT.. If It's a I4.. (4 cylinder) Then Go for custom.. and put eather An 18" and a 12" resinator On with a "Straight through Muffler" (Like an Apexi N1) OR If that is a little too Loud.. take out the 12" so you have TWO 18" Resinators on it.. with an N1.. Or Greddy.. Something Straight through.. with a 'Bigger' Tip.. something Like a 4" tip..

and you should get that Deep rumble that will be quiet.. but somewhat Loud when you want it to be... Like MY exhaust For Instance! :P

What kind of car is it? How can people give advice on what the exhaust will sound like if they don't know? 3" straight back with a straight through muffler sounds great on a DSM,...

Yea, the type of car has a big difference on the sound. I had to find out the long way that I definatly needed a res to cut out the raspyness in my exhaust. Guess I should have followed a members adivice on here.

17 RWHP dyno proven.

Also look into this exhaust by KO Racing. 25 RWHP dyno proven. Scroll down to the "TKO" exhaust.

That or the Garage Fukui Departure II 85 MM. If you have the cash to get it shipped to Edmonton, then that is also a nice exhaust.

Supersprint all da way.

Damn expensive? You betchya! But quality stuff always is.

But to have good exhaust with a nice, Italian made note is priceless. I've got it on my Golf and the sound awesome.

Supersprint
