There were complications putting it in, but the guys stayed many hours late trying to get it in for me for the long weekend, and gave me a real good price aswell. was treated good and was a good shop with low prices! That thing looked like such a hack job it was rediculous. I went in there and was talking to a few people there telling them about my set up and the info/advice that they gave me was all incorrect in some way. The guys have no clue what they are talking about.

Honestly, i can say there is no real good shop in edmonton for installs.

I have no idea who to go to.

I hear T&T Automotive is good.

Why can't you do it yourself? I don't understand why people pay to have there parts installed. If you don't have tools I am sure you know someone that does.

Or you all could just work on your own cars..

Cause some people are scared that they will mess something up and ending spending more than they would have just getting installed for them in the first place. And there could be specialty tools you may need to do something. Could be a lot more reasons why as well. Don't have anywhere to do it beside the street. I dunno :dunno:

I work on my own car and so does Sam. But sometimes you run into complications that you can't figure out on your own. Such as vacuum hoses in an RX-7 (Don't even tell me you can figure that shit out, if you thought of posting that is easy, go fuck your hat) And therefore you want to find a reliable shop to take your car to. My best experiences have been at Speedy Automotive. Expert fabrication skills and enough knowledge between the 5 mechanics to fill an encyclopedia. Awesome shop, they get my nod.

I know most of you might not see it this way.. But.. realistically pretty much every thing on your car is just one part held to another part with a bolt.. In most cases the nuts are even captive or just its just tapped into something else. As long as you can put shit back where you got it from and you have the ability to look up torque specs you should be able to do 99% of things your self. Wiring is not really that big of a thing.. pretty much anyone can solder connections and hook up stuff like that. I think the real problem is that they are just unwilling to try.

I didnt say I dont, i do all the work on my car, just like Matt.

Just exactly like Matt said:

But there are things like getting things diagnosed, so that i can fix the problem, which I had problems with shops in the past.

Sometimes we need to take our car to a shop to get something looked at, that I may have overlooked.

I do not trust shops installing my stuff, nor can I afford it on a students budget, thats why I do all my own stuff, especially for the learning experience.

Im alwasy too afraid im gonna F*# up my car :(. Matt woudl just love to see that wouldnt you Matt? Hehehe, that and the fact that its my daily driver in the winter and summer, I need my car everyday.

I can agree that most people are unwilling to try and some people just don't want to take the time to do the work themselves. But if you are a real car guy, you want to learn more about the operation of your car so you will take off the weekend and do your engine swap yourself. But lets get this thread back on topic.

jdmtalon
ya but for people like me who are just learning about mechanics of cars, live in a townhouse with no garage, and minimal tools, a couple hundred bucks to get shit done right on my car is well worth it. back to the topic resource seems like a good shop.

Kirill
Agreed, i had alot of work done there. Its one of the chosen shops my car drives into.
