How Legal is Nitrous Oxide? - Click HERE for Original Thread

sunfiregt
Hi albertarc first off I think it is great that your on this forum to answer our questions and not to tell us how wrong we are. I am going to put nitrous on my car this spring, I am suriously only going to us it at the track but I want to keep the bottle in the trunk mostly for looks. I don't street race although I do frequent the scene mostly to see what everyone has got and I what to " showoff" what its my car. How legal is it to have it in the car. Is it in accordance to TDG that makes it illegal to have in a vehicle because its a compressed gas? :) Thanks.

Alex ( Fort Saskatchewan )

Its bad news, Huge fine, car towed and impounded, suspended licence, all that good stuff.

 Even if the bottle isn't hooked up? Are you 100% sure on this? Not questioning your intelligance but I want to know for sure. Thanks.

Eric @ Phat had NO2 in his civic h/b and they discovered it when we were impounded and they didn't really care all that much, I think it depends on the discretion of the officer but it is a huge fine, suspension of license is unlikely though the fine will come with demerits... I think they slap you with a dangerous driving ticket or something like that

sorry, shoulda clarified, if the N2O isn't opperational, there isn't a whole lot wrong with it then. I'm sure if the Constable wanted to be a REAL ASSHOLE he could cite you for SOMETHING, but if it isn't opperational, and you cant make it opperational while operating the vehicle, then you are pretty safe.

I have a N2O system as well, I reserched this shit hardcore before I went ahead.

What fun stuff.

the rule on NOS is,
if the bottle is in the trunk and off, this means you can't juice it from the drivers seat... THERE IS NOTHING WRONG if you have the bottle in reach of the drivers seat or if the bottle is on your dunn,.,.,.,.,.,.
$2000 fine
