Thanks for all the posts regarding classes, what is eligible, tires and other competition related posts.
I want you to all know that the organizers and myself follow the posts very closely. You've all made some really good points. Based on how passionate you all are regarding the classifications, it will be a very difficult job for V8less event organizers to build an event that will make everyone happy.
I would like to organize a town hall regarding our race events in the near future. There is no expectation that we will decide on the rules in this meeting, It is more of a meeting of the minds. Everyone is welcomed, novice to veteran, racer to spectator.
Your opinions? |

| I think you could get a feeling for what people want, but rule the meeting with an iron fist. as you can see already rules are very difficult and people "myself included" tend to become very passionate about getting what they think they want. one other thing, if you guys have a close idea to what you want to see, maybe lay it out on paper or put the proposed idea on the forum the day or two before this meet and then discus it and possible options to it.???? good luck. |

They are, and the IDRC, who was the first to get the ball rolling back in 1998 before anybody else would even give imports and sport compacts a chance, has done all the hard work for us by creating a set of no hassle rules that is proven to work.
I am all for a meeting organized by Markis, seeing as how he is planning on hosting 2 events. I would like to see a set of rules in place for all "major" import/sport compact events @ Bud Park so there is no confusion as to what class you will race in from event to event.
Edit: I will have a copy of the IDRC rulebook to verify the simplicity of it soon. |
