| I've been cruising around on the USS Auto Auction site, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to tell if a car is turbo or not. I'm most specifically referring to MR2's, and Fairlady's. How do you tell if they're turbo or not? Maybe it's right in front of my face and I'm just an idiot? |

MR-2's can be a pain, look at the trunk lid, if it's flat it should be a non-turbo, if it has raised vents, then it's turbo. This is of course unless someone has changed lids.
For Z's, look for GCZ32 or CZ32....the C stands for twin turbo. The non-turbo's are GZ32 and Z32. |

The best way to tell if a Fairlady Z is turbo is the chassis number. The letter C in the chassis number means the car is turbocharged. If there is G at the front of the number, the car is 2+2.
EG: GCZ32-XXXXXX = 2+2 TT
GZ32-XXXXXX = 2+2 n/a
CZ32-XXXXXX = 2 seater TT
Z32-XXXXXX = 2 seater n/a
You cant tell by the chassis code for MR2's, they're all just SW20-XXXXX. so you have to look at the trim.
GT = turbo
G ltd. = n/a |

| kinda off topic but i've heard those things are crazy fast. i've also heard u can't build them up because of perfect weight distribution 50/50 so it wouldn't be able to hook up at all. idk thats just what ive heard so feel free to correct me.... |

They're pretty lightweight, and the turbo ones have something like 215rwhp stock.
You can build them up, but there's really not much you can do. It'll be hard to install an intercooler, having the engine all the way in the back will be a pain for the tubing.
It doesn't matter if the 50/50 weight distrubution is ignored. It'll still handle well. |

| Actually there is ALOT you can do on the stock MR2 Turbo engine block. The MR2 is built very very rugged, and most internals can withstand well over 500 hp. It is not too costly either to push your MR2 to 300 hp or so with just basic performance upgrades. |

| it all depends when you think is "crazy" fast ....... but the 3sgte engine is a great start for modifying when compared to other similar 2L-T engines |

| The MR2 Turbo is good for 275whp on the stock fuel system! Just Intake, Exhaust, an More Boost (Although it'd be pretty risky to push it that hard on the stock intercooler) And you wouldn't put a front mount in an MR2, either an aftermarket side-mount or a custom A2W or Trunk mount intercooler. |

| 275-300 in one of those sw20 cars is plenty ....I am finding over 350hp in a street car is getting to be too much |
