Personally, I don't think that compliments the lines of the car at all. Far too much going on, and too edgy, for such a smooth car. The clip on the orange one in your sig is much more like it.
Anyway, I hope you like it. And yes, it was quite well done. The paint match looks perfect. |

i think with skirts and bumper it would not look as out of place - and some 18's would help the look alot too :)
90teg - is your talon a DSM? when you open your drivers side door, check right beside the seat belt, if it was made at Diamond Star it will say on a little white sticker.
some 95's are and some aren't.. just curious |

I will be getting the blitz side and back. also putting some black rims. this is a works in prog. of course its not going to look right the first couple of months. at least im not really gay to put my kit on and not paint it at all. all the curves will match up after im done |

yeah i've read that whole faq before... i think its a typo where it says 3G (1995+).. it should say 1999+ as a 95 talon is considered a 2g.
i think when its talking about 3G it is talking about the new(er) eclipses and spyders with the door grooves.

I think its safe to say all 1g and 2g's are DSM's, regardless, they share the same parts and names, its all good. :beer: Btw 90teg, I agree you need the rest of the kit but we all have to start somewhere, it'll look good. If you need any help gimme a shout, I've almost torn my eclipse down to the bone more than once(except the engine). |

Well first off im never a fan of doin the body kit first, just looks WEIRD. My vote is always do everything else first, setup the rims exhaust and then, SAVE UP AND DO THE WHOLE KIT AT ONCE. Most stuff doesn't look good half done, either way its your car and im not a fan of what you have done , but its your car. SOme of my favorite DSM have nothing done cause there lines do the work for them and the other ones that are changed, do not hinder what is already there, they accent it.
Whatever you car , do as you wish but understand that when you do something to YOUR car, it doesn't mean that everyone else will be like HOT DAYAM SON THAT IS SO PIZZZIMP , or goin w000t thats so l333ts@uc3 i ph34r it .
I built a sleeper look and everything i do is made to make my car not stand out. It stands out by doin that cause its different. So before you carry on think that out. If u just do whateveryone else does and slap a huge kit on, you will get the typical RICE looks and a pffft answer from 3/4 of the people. I dont want to rag on you, so ima stop. but just understand a lot of people dont like a lot of car mods , especially body kits that stick out and change the natural look of the ride |

hasn't decals and big wings been rice since the 1990's:dunno:??? one thing that i hate is people who only put 1/2 a bodykit on a car, i think it gives the tuner sceen a bad rep. espcially massive front bumpers that probably weigh more then stock, and actually slow down the car because they are heavy and produce more drag byalter the cars areodynamics.

you cannot swap that motor into an n/a 2g. It is NOT a direct drop. There is a lot of difference in the motor mounts and in the wiring itself. The n/a 2g dsm's came with the 420A chrylser neon motor. If you look under the hood, the timing belt is on the passenger side whereas in the 4g63t motor its on the driver side....the whole motor is turned around 180 degrees.
It IS theoretically possible to do such a swap, BUT there is a LOT of custom fabrication/money/time involved and its usually not worth it. Very very few people have actually done this swap |

a OEM CF hood is never considered rice if done properly. It just sticks out more. The Rice hoods are the weird ass vader ones or what not that have non function scoops and bumps and so forth.
A proper wing that actually helps the car stay on the road at high speeds is never rice, however when you have a daily driver with a massive ass wing, i highly doubt its there for high speeds.
either way i vote get some RIMS , lower it, get a nice exhaust get some pop out of the engine, THEN save all your money and finish the kit all at once. |
