Acura Dealerships - Click HERE for Original Thread

DelSoln
I was just wondering for those of you that go get your cars serviced at the Acura dealerships how have your experiences been with them?? Is one better then the other or are they all scam artists??

Ayu
I would never go to a dealership again.

If you drive a Honda or Toyota product you are better off taking it to Auto Tech, much better service than most stealerships. Pricing is pretty close sometimes cheaper.

Expensive.. but the service is decent.

I never used to have any problems with West Side Acura back when I still owned an Integra. But that was a while ago.

I've also learned that the Service Manager that used to be at West Side switched to Southview recently.

gerrycurl
I spet 84$ to get them to turn off my "Check Engine" light

If you need your car serviced, go to Southview. If you need your car detailed, like POWER POLISH etc. go to Ziebart. It costs a bit more in both cases, but u get what you pay for. I would trust them over a cheapo garage or a friend who does a half ass job.

The service is pretty decent, but I hate how every dealership has lil punks driving the customer's cars in/out of the shop, or even for a testdrive.

I am and I'll always be one of those little punks driving your cars in and out :P.

i will never go to southview again...why?
i went there for an oil change, service manager comes out after the oil change and tells me they also checked the transmission fluid in my car and its dirty, and should be changed.
funny thing is i got that done 3 months ago.
i tell him this and he says well the guys that did it didnt really do a good job on it.
then heres the kicker, i told him i got it done at southview, so he goes onto the computer and checks the service history, and sure enough, it was done 3 months ago.
he walks back to the service area and comes back maybe 10 mins later and tells me that they rechecked it and its not too dirty.
after this incident, i will not be heading back there to get any service done.
just giving you a heads up on my experience.

when did this happen to you? was it recently? cuz i think about a month ago the service manager went over to southview.... he could've corrupted that place too when he went over there!

92exrcoupe
no, it was a while back
things could have changed since then, but still kind of hard for me to trust that place.

92exrcoupe
service manager's name was brian, not sure if he's still there

DelSoln
Your past experiences sound awful. It makes me want to drive back to Silverhill :( !

Bucktown
that brian guy is a moron

I have used west side acura really good service...you pay more tbuthe job is guranteed to be done right... I had them put in a passenger window in..the tech did not cacume out the broken glass.. when they called afteer to ask how the service was I told them it was garbage since they did not clean out the broken glass.. the service manager was surprised.. and said onde the snow melts bring your car back an we will clean it front to back.. engine included ..so I did an they hooke me up with a loaner car to.. most glass shops vacume out the broken glass when your car gets boken into.. so west side gets my thumb up.

Honda_Finatic
I use to have a problem with west side acura always loosening my sparkplugs. Obviously, they hope i'm a retard and dont realize why my car is having problems. Thus needing to bring it back to them. Its happened twice in the last yr and a half. The first time, i even tightened them just before bringing the car in...... and when it came out.... not only did they loosen it... they broke one of them! Anybody else have problems like that? as in "sabatoge"?

ehos
Who pays 90/Hr for service?

mexxi
I would have checked the oil and see if it's dirty. If it was, i would have demanded a fluid change on the spot since they were the pple who did it 3 months ago. See how he stepped on his own toes?

As for the new mgr at Southview, his name is Dave Polley i think. No comments on him. I just know him long long time ago.
