GOT BOOST
Hi Dave, you may or may not know that the Supra club site is down.

PM SENT.

Mike Nikolai

Yep It is...

CanuckDave
yep, sorry everybody. I got screwed over, my employer paid me for a week less than I was expecting, so I barely made enough to cover insurance and gas, let alone anything else, so the monthly payment for the hosting didn't go through. As soon as I can get the cash (its $15 a month) for the hosting and put on my CC I'll get it back up.

Sentara
We should start club fee's.

Sure it is only 15 dollars a month but...all the work and time you put in...A few dollars from everyone just to cover the bills.

On another note, picked up an 5mge engine gasket set from Kingsway, thanks to the club I got a great deal.

I agree. It is not right that Dave is covering all the costs for the Supra Club website, plus all his time that he has put into seting it up and maintaining it.

Perhaps the profits that are made from the T-shirts and things should be used to help offset the cost of hosting the site?

Even if we collected a little cash from everyone to help host the site. Every little bit helps.

i can surly pay a dollar or two to dave, since he is doing most of the work and all...i feel bad for him.

accordsir
lets do it..let say 10-15 $/pers for one year...

the fees can include a sticker of the club + shirt

let say 50 people at 15 $ = 750 $ it s enought to cover the site fees + sticker...and maybe 20 $/year and you should have enought money for the site, sticker and shirt..and i may have a place to do the logo on the shirt..let me know if you want me to ask my boss for that..and do you guys have a logo...

if you need help dude let me know i will be please to help you...when i m here...military life..

night_font
oh my lordy....25-20...i was hoping for 2 dollars, lol...help in the website and chip in a little but more for the sticker.

Supra_devil
i know i didn't realize dave was paying for that site out of his own pocket.

i have no problems paying some for the fees, since he does all the upkeep on it, fixing problems, etc.

I guess this is something that needs to be talked about at the meet tommorow.

HeavyEarly87T
For the next meet.
I agree $$ could be put towards Dave’s outlay for the website.

This year is no fee but if you want you can buy a “club set” which, based on 25 people will generate enough funds to get shirts & etc plus leave some for the year of web hosting. I worked the numbers out with Mike before his holiday..

Currently the shirts have fewer than 20 people interested with a minimum order of 25. I confirmed the order yesterday they should be ready in the first week of August. I will loose cash on this just to start.

So far I have collected from one person.

If we could get 50 people signed up the overhead would be low. Currently, based on turnout & participation, we have 20 active members at the most. We have to look at the funding like that.

I have been looking at a plan for next season for fees & new shirts & such. Trying to keep the costs as low as we can.

I am looking at the big picture for next year. I would like to cover web space & supplemental fees for shows & racing with only purchasing of shirts & such.

Thanks, Earl.

CanuckDave
thanks guys, I don't mind paying for the web space, occasionally I have use for it for my own projects, and I see it as putting my bit in for all the help I get from people in the club..
Eventually, as the club grows we'll need a different solution for web hosting if we want to use the site for hosting club galleries, video etc, as that uses far more bandwidth than my current plan allows for (although its more than enough for what we're using right now), but that can be discussed later when we decide if we're going to become more of an "official" club with events, memberships costs, and it can be figured into that cost.
I'll get this worked out ASAP, I should have the site back up within the week.

Uh.... 15 bucks a month is ALOT for hosting guys! I pay like 8 a month, and I can fit as many domains unto my space as I want.... If you guys want to use my space, you're more than welcome! It will cost a one time fee of 15 bucks to transfer the domain, and I think that's it.

PM me if you're interested!

Jeff:)

mr_sars
:p Dave, I told you that everyone wouldn't mind chipping in a few bucks to help for the domain costs.

Malaria
yeah man i'll chip in too, just set up a paypal account

HeavyEarly87T
Since our site is still down I just want to remind people to track me down to pay for the shirts. They should be in this comming week sometime and I have to pay for them in full to pick em up.

I do not even have the list of names of people who ordered so please find me. My cell is listed on the mail out we sent.

Thanks,

oops sorry, I missed your post before. Thanks for the offer, but I'm paying what I am for a reason. I've gone through quite a few hosts, and I've been with this one for a while now and its the best I could find - haven't had the slightest bit of downtime, they have all the features I need (php, mysql), and large amounts of space and bandwidth, plus everything is set up and running the way it should be (can't say the same for numerous other hosts I've used). Not to assume theres anything wrong with the host that you've got, but I'm pretty happy with what I've got, and I'd like to stick with it, its worth the $15 to me.

I still haven't got it back up, but I will ASAP.

baker_jeff
Np, just lookin to help out a club! :)

CanuckDave
