Sup Guys,
I'm posting this question on here to save Christian some time
because I know some of you have already ordered cars.
Anyways, I'm just wondering what the process is exactly for
recieving your car. From what I understand so far, the car
will be loaded onto the ships in Japan to Vancouver. Then, they
take them from the ships and do the custom papers? not quite
sure at this point. But, after customs is cleared they load it
unto the train and ship it down? When the car arrives (here
in Calgary) Christian will call? or email?

From my understanding, this is the flow:
Purchase car (japan)
Stored at ship yard (japan)
Placed on ship to Canada (japan)
Arrive at port (vancouver)
Customs inspection still at port (vancouver)
LHF picks up car and puts on train (vancouver)
LHF gives you a call 24 hours in advance of ETA(calgary)
Arrives at your destination (calgary)
You pick up car/tow to your home
Paper work still has to be sent to you from IC. |

When I was last informed, I believe my car was at:

I'm also wondering this, and it would be very helpful

My Friend is driving to vancouver this weekend.
Would they be able to see the car at the port?
if so what is the port called?

You bet it does. It's definitely worth it in the long run.
I won my auction on Jan 25 or 26, then the car finally showed up at my house on March 30th. It sat in my garage uintil May 19 waiting for parts, and was written off 2 days later. I just got my second one on the road, but in the long run it was definitely worth the wait.
Hopefuly shouldn't be too much longer. Which one did you buy? |

Thats about 2 months :) Almost what i'm at, come this

Anyways, I managed to get the Grade 4.0 300Z for 6100. :)
But damn, I was at Best Buy today, and some dude. Had
a $35000 base RX-7. THis guy had it sooo tweaked out.
$4000 dollar Rims and the Pioneer 5700 dvd navigations system.
With some crazy alarm system with jack sensors etc.
lol So envious lol. |

Yeah sometimes its a little slow going getting ahold of them.
But Christian will usually reply once hes gets to your email.
As for Dominic, hes on vacation but will be back 2morrow I believe.

Nope I called them... I was pissed off to know that my car hasnt moved for near 2 weeks... I'm gonna phone them back tomorow and ask to talk to the manager to get a huge discount on the shipping since the car is gonna be incredibly late. I'll give you news if i get discount so you can get one too. |

It usually takes 1-2 days for train to get to Calgary right?
its a 12 hours drive. So I'm assuming a train couldnt be
anymore then 2 days.

| Do you guys know how long custom usually hold the cars for? I live in Vancouver and I bought a MR2 and I am eagerly waiting for an email from Dominic or Christian to pick up the car. Custom probaly had the MR2 for almost 3 weeks. |

I don't know the specifics of your car but I do know that the CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) clearance has been relegated to the customs service from the agriculture department about two weeks ago. The usual in and out CFIA clearance you need before the final customs clearance has turned into a mess because now you have people doing the job that are new to the process.
In my case I phoned the guy and he pulled my CFIA passed inspection out of a huge pile(his words) that were done for two different ships on Tuesday and faxed it back. If I hadn't hounded him it would probably still be sitting in the stack for another week. |

| Sigh, maybe that is what is taking so damn long to get my car. I got an email from Dominic on July 19th that the car is already in the middle of clearing customs and now it is August 4th. Still no MR2 and I am getting impatient. |
