hey guys some of my buddies were saying that every part for this engine had to be oredered from japan is this true? and also wouldnt an sr20 be better to cope with for parts.

Considering the SR20 (DET) was never sold on this continent all of the parts for it need to come from Japan. If you are just talking about the SR20DE then it is a different story.

Maybe some sensors and accessories but none of the important performance stuff.
