I went to both, and I must say, this one was a little more Show Biz style than pure rock and roll (lasers beams, big screens, etc), but I enjoyed the energy of the Shaw concert better. Of course, I was on the floor for the shaw, and I was in the first tier for the coliseum, so that would have something to do with it, but I like seeing big bands in smaller venues. I would have rather seen them at the shaw again, but then you wouldn't have been able to move.
What they should have done was have it at Commonwealth, then it would have rocked. Get EVERYONE on the floor!!
I liked the version of Everlong they played at this show, but I was hoping they would play the full out hard rock version during their encore. Monkey wrench they played as well, at shaw they cut into Stairway to heaven, which was cool, this time they cut to a blues like guitar rift, which was cool as well. I would have been disappointed if they did stairway again, but both were friggin awesome. I'll go when they come again, because they are an awesome live band, but next time I'll have floor tix for sure. |
