Coolant leak, check engine light - Click HERE for Original Thread

Seks
My car developed a coolant leak in the engine bay. I didn't look close enough of where it was so I got it towed to Autotech. Found out that it was just the upper rad hose.

So that got replaced. Went and picked up the car and drove home. 5 min into the driving, my check engine light came on.

What could it be? A friend suggested it may be that the sensor got disconnected.

yea sounds like a sensor... why dont you reset the ECU and then see if it comes on... if it does take it back to autotech

Whatever you do, don't drive it. I made that mistake.

After a new water pump, new head gasket, my engine blew.

Now you got me worry there. I'm taking it to Autotech in the morning by driving it.

Sorry if I got you worried. Um basically what happened to me is out of the usuall so I wouldn't worry. Just keep an eye on the temp gauge and don't drive it to work etc and get it fixed asap.

coolant is probably low.

Did they actually top off the coolant after replacing the upper rad hose? :p

They did charge me a few bucks for one unit (whatever that may be) of coolant so I am assuming they did.

Last nite, I unplug and plug back in the thermosensor. I looked at the LED on the ECU to see what it was giving me but I couldn't differetiate between long and short pauses/flashes. I didn't go for a drive until this morning when I took it to Autotech. No check engine light at all

But they're gonna check and see what's going on.

Run the code and see what it is.

Got a call from Autotech. They said it's the O2 sensor. They wanted ~$220 (parts and labour). $180 for the part and $40 for the 1/2 hr labour

I told them I am able to do it myself. ~$80 for a Bosch O2 sensor from I&M.

I supposed I should be OK for the next little while driving the car around with a bad O2 sensor? The car will just run rich?
