Not that I would know from experience but the way I see it you stop doing things you did before you were married to hang out with the wife / girlfriend. You leave the house less except for work. This is just what I have seen from a couple different people not myself.

Married men live longer and are healthier.

I think it basically comes down to a reduction in stress because we don't have to make any decisions for ourselves any more.... we just ask the wife and she tells us what to do, and we don't have to worry about chasing chicks or trying to get laid or doing much of anything to impress anybody....

Im sure its like anything else........if you have a crappy marriage its gonna add stress to your life in turn causing health prolbems down the road. But in reverse if you have a good marriage and you are happy then Im sure it will have a positive effect on your life and health.

I've never felt better...

But we have to put it in terms that Rommel will understand <ahem>

When you can have sex anytime you want, you spend less time trying to find it <gets off soapbox>

How does that have anything to do with being married? Most married men I know are not complaining due to the abundance of sex, usually its the reverse.

If the amount of sex you had was inversely related to longevity of life, married men would have a longer life expectancy.

Never mind, they do have longer life expectancy. :p

In terms of health effects of marriage:

Potential Positives:
- You might be eating better overall than when you were single (less KD and takeout).
- You may or may not be getting more sex than when you were single, which has proven health benefits.

Potential Negatives:
- You may be less physically active overall (less incentive to go to the gym, and other activities single guys did to try to attract the opposite sex).
- Your money and your free time are no longer your own, to spend as you choose... which can be a source of STRESS.

Let's not forget that old saying:

RoB
Before I got married:

5'11"
190lbs

Kayacked
Snowboarded
camped
rock climbed
hiked

Married a girl that did none of that. Don't ask me why I married someone who didn't have the same interests. 8 years later I'm 240lbs from not doing shit all those years. But I'm back into working out and eating better so its coming off.

Moral of the story, marry someone who likes to do the things you do, so you don't sit there and eat her amazing cooking while she chubbs you up to take you off the market.

8 years and 50lbs. $hit man. Well I've lost 130lbs already...

My ex.

hehe
