I think it was a GSR swap or something to start out with and they bored it and rebuilt it with a nitrous system....

----
the car def did not end up with 18's, it got foose edition 20's on a civic. well for paint i dunno if you can say it s ricey but in some eyes its def different. The car had no jdm theme what so ever, but who would complain to have a beater turned into a show car for free.
got to look at the whole picture. This was the first time an import was ever done for the show. Lots of things shoulda coulda woulda been done, but there was lots of politics holding things back.

the first concept of the build was for boost since Dylan was into the whole import scene and had already done a GSR swap. to that once we heard that the build had to be CARB legal.

then supercharged. again nobody was able to provide CARB numbers in time for the build.

had to stay all motor since it had to go to the ref and pass emisions. got some goodies bigger bore je and eagle through in the goodies. port flow for the head
hondata, nitrous express, BDL, to name a few.

it was really all done in a 7 days.

Wask
The car turned out pretty good, nice to see something different for once.

oldraven
It's not the first time he's done an import. He did a Mazda B-series once at the same time as a Chevelle. Sisters.

Complexity
Call the paintjob what you will, I like it. Nice to see them do a build on an import. It is a shame it is a civic.

92_WhItE_H23
they should make a show like this with imports... but not like pimp my ride because they kill it with thier west coast themes..

and the mazda was a truck....nothing anyone on here would appreciate

IMHO they should leave the whole "tuner" thing to shows like pimp my ride, nopi tunervision, tunertv, and tuner transformation.

Overhaulin should be about restoring/rebuilding classics, not refitting pos rice mobiles or mid-90s suvs.

supper nice hey? were you hungry when you wrote that? :P j/k

I thought it was a waste i mean come on a civic

they need to stick with muscle cars and older vehicles vehicles i veiw worthy of bein overhauled

cars like this
180 sx
240 sx
300zx
late modelsupras

and what other japanese imports SHOULD NOT GRACE THAT SHOW. it could ruin the show. why there sport cars there cheap little cars that require more money to tune then there truly worth.
yeah there fun to bomb around in i would buy 1 but just as a starter vehicle nothing more. there not fast in a quarter mile there engines are not powerful and they have next to no durability. there is 1 engine i do like the rb26 but with the same amount of money i can get a crate engine from ford that puts out more a rb26 is like a uptight girlfriend who rarely puts out much
the crate engine from ford is like a girlfriend who has her lippeds glued to your dick 24/7

cars like this
1965-1970 mustangs
chargers
challengers
chevelles
javelins
camaros

these kinds of cars the ones with some real-balls-badass-attitude
the kind of cars you can turn into 7 second speed freaks or into classy show rides.

you just cant get the pwer out of a small 4 cylinder engine that you can with a big block 454.

my 2 cents

Just because you think that those cars shouldnt grace hte show, doesnt mean they dont belong. The whole point for overhaulin was to take some young kids ride, play a few pranks on them ad give their car a whole new life. Its not that they are trying t go with the JDM fad but why not try something new? Face it if it was alwyas the same old muscle cars, you'd watch every episode?
oh and your no replacemnt for displacement comment, i am always more imprssed with turboed 4 bangers that can take a big old heavy (and out handle them to boot) 454 rather then all motor power. Theres already a thread about this arguement somewhere.

add a turbo to a v-8 and watch magic happen i think some ones a little arrogant when it comes to engines.

Cobra_R

thats a engine

newtuner
I think the real point of the show is to get people with cars that mean something to them. Notice how all those old cars belonged to the persons dad or somebody important to that person. I don't know how much it is to put out the fastest car or most powerful. Although that never hurts.

ColinSiR
they overhaul all vehicles, your crying here wont do shit

newtuner
Dude maybe you should bend over and pull that broom stick out of you ass. We're just talking about the show so chill.:dunno:

yeah you are Mr. V8 is god . iam far from arrogant iam passionat in what i belive in. I just happen to belive that spinning triangels will be as good or better then a piston motor

in my last post i wasn't saying that the rotary was the best ever. I was just wondering who they would get to build one. none fo the guys on the show seem like they would know much .

GOT BOOST
Hi Snugs,

To be honest, I was not too sure how the car was going to turn out. When it was drawn up on the paper, it looked ok but I was a little concerned about how it was going to look painted. I must admit the boys did a great job painting. I think the car turned out well inside and out.

wonder how the show would have turned out if it was an MKIV supra... imagine the possibilities...

2ndgenlude
people that own MKIV supras don't need to be "overhauled"

i remember years ago when "they" said 4 cyl. imports will never break in to the 9's or 10's, now the boosted ones are in the 6's and 7's and NA's are running low 9's i believe. i'd say that is watching magic happen.

scooby_dooby
lol, so Cobra_R they can overhaul a 180sx, in your opinion, but not a CRX!?

Why exactly?

CRX's are called rice rockets for a reason, only 1800-2000lbs so they can freakin rip with some decent power in them.

I like to see what Foose does with any car, it's just fun watching him do what he does, the guy is amaxing. I'm not lovin tis civic, but I didn't see the show, just that one blurry pic.

I think as long as they keep finding cars that mean alot to the people, that's what really matters, who cares what make/model/year they are.

I must admit, I'm getting a *little* bored with the muscle cars...

oldraven
It never hurts to mix it up a bit. It keeps the show fairly fresh. I wouldn't have picked a Civic to dip into the imports, but I wouldn't have told him not to use a Civic. :dunno:
