i am classified a high risk driver becuase i have a long list of speeding tickets. and my insurance is about 600 bills a month. and will probably go up agian because of a stupid little incident last night that got me a 400 dollar stunting ticket.

anyways the reason i am posting is because i was wonder if there is any other people like me that have the same sorta record but pay less because of a, may i say decent insurance company. so if anyone can help me or knows of a good insurance comany that will give me cheaper rates that would be great. i know insurance-speeding tickets-and cheap sounds kinda sureal but any help would be great.

thanks
mike.

Everybody's driving record is different, so everybody's rates are different. Basically, all you can do is call around and get quotes from all the insurance companies........

kyuu
24, Male, Unmarried, never been issued a ticket for speeding, stunting, etc but I had one accident I was liable for about 5 years ago. Costs me about $332 a month for full coverage for my 05 WRX. An STi would have cost me over $4,100 a year full coverage.
I think I pay alot for insurance but damn, you blew me right out of the water!

My advice would be to stop doing stupid shit. You must pay for your actions. I know the price is a little steep but hopefully you learned your leason and won't do that kind of stuff any more. By the way considering that you are now high risk the only company that will take you is Kingsway General. The step beyond them is no insurance.

I don't think the insurance company is to blame for charging high prices if you have a long list of speeding tickets, and a recent stunting ticket. I am currently paying 1150 dollars a year full coverage with a 500 deductible for a 2004 Toyota RAV4. I have had no accidents and 1 speeding ticket 3 years ago. Most companies won't even consider giving you insurance with so many speeding tickets.

Maybe it's time to stop breaking the law?

Let's face it - you should be classified as a "high risk" driver. And because of that, you should be paying out your ass for insurance.

Consider yourself lucky you only pay 600/month. I have a friend who has been quoted 800/month, so they just don't drive anymore...

Seks
$600 is better spent on a mortgage of a house...

ThinkAboutIt
Go try and get the stunting ticket reduced or thrown out or something. My buddy who bikes just got his stunting ticket throw out because the cop diddent show for the court date. Mabey you'll have the same luck and save yourself some demerits and mabey some cash.

Move to a small town... saved me $250/mo a while back. I was paying $260 sumthin for full coverage on a 02 Neon LE, they wanted to jack it to welll over $500/mo, moved here and it dropped to $230 sumthin.

I have 3 speeding tickets.. only cause I forgot the court dates and never showed up. I have 1 accident split 50/50(still undecided officially). 1 claim on my comp, I was run off the road, 2 accident not at fault. and now I pay $104 for full on a 02 R/T neon and $84/mo for pl/pd and comp on my fifth.

fuck you asshole. they are just speedind tickets anyways99 % of them are for like 20 over on a highway on a long trip and not everyone can say they dont do 10 to 20 over on long trips somewhere. and you they do then congrats to them. all i was asking for was some help if there is any not for people to flame my post because they think they dont speed too. fuck just about everyone speeds so dont go calling me an asshole because i know you do it too, your just lucky enough to get away with it,or maybe you not i honestly wouldnt know.

plus even if i stop speeding its not gonna change what i already have ,and believe me my high rates have slown me down because i can barely afford it now.

thank to the poeple that had some decent input to this anyways.

SilverNeonRacer
Like I said move to a small town, it helps your rates right away, and due to the nature of small towns, your driving changes real quick, cause there's no where to hide and everybody knows if you stunt or whatever.

yeah luckily ihad family in a small town so i had my insurance changed to that adress.,so that bumped it down a couple hundred but i was stupid enough to get caught speeding again. and as for stunting goes i wasnt the cop gave me the stunting ticket instead of towing my car.its a long story. but anyways thanks for the idea.

my input is decent what else is there you want lower rates

stop breaking the law
so in reply i say the same thing

STOP BREAKING THE LAW ASSHOLE

if your speeding your speeding no if ands or buts so stop defending yourself you just look like a idiot doing so.

and if your going on a long trip going 10-20 more why the fuck you gotta get there in a hurry.

take the big picture in you keep breaking the laws that are ment to protect you and others on the road eventually eather you will get killed on the high way or someone else then you become bubbas little bitch in prison think of that next time you speed.

sneakyCIVIC
did you just have a brain fart!!!!!

Hi Mike,

Unfortunately with more offences the higher the premiums you will have to pay. What it looks like to the insurance companies is that you are a repeat offender. That is not good for business. Good for them as they are making alot of money off you, bad for you as you are paying it.

What I can suggest is try to resist or control your urges to drop the hammer on the loud pedal or do some dumb stuff. I know it can be pretty tempting when some kid in a buzz box pulls up beside you and wants to go you. You know you could walk all over him or her. Best thing to do is to not do it. Try to aviod the situation or turn off till your adreniline goes away. I know it is easier said than done. But your pocket book will thank you. :D

As for the speeding, that is tough too. I would suggest to not speed in the city. It is literally a ticket waiting to happen. If you do speed may I suggest that it not be over the limit by alot. I cap my speeding by using cruise in my car. I find that when I do not use cruise. Yes you will see people ripping by you alot faster than the speed limit and cutting you off, but watch them. At the next set of lights you will catch up to them as they start to rip off again. Give it a try, even if it is only for an hour or so. It really becomes quite amusing. With the lower speeds your reaction time is increased. Granted when you are travelling the the speed limit things can still literally jump out at you out of no where with no reaction time. I refer to my incident July 08 2005.

On the highways in a perfect world everyone would be travelling the speed limit, or if they are speeding no one would get caught. However that does not happen. People get caught and then they are asked to make a contribution to the Financial Treasurer. There is usually a thresh hold of what the RCMP will allow you for certain kms over as to what you can do. As long as you are not the fastest man on the road and there are cars travelling much faster than you, you should be alright. :D

As time goes buy, these tickets will drop off and you will start to pay more human rates for insurance. I think by shopping around you may find some places that will offer lower rates. But as a suggestion I would reccomend that you be a little more mindfull of what you are doing. :D

It is easy to jump in and say "Don't break the law" blah, blah, blah but no one here is a perfect driver, and has obeyed every traffic rule the last time they drove. I am just offering some helpfull suggestions and some friendly advice.

Mike Nikolai

Holy Crap! 400 a month. With a record like that, ether you very unlucky or a very risky driver. I'm inclined to believe that later. :(

The first step to lower insurance is to keep your record clean. That means slowing down. If your really can't control yout self, just don't drive. Car pool to work, let others drive or take a cab. :dunno:

BTW, other that impaired, stunting is one of the worst things that can be on your record, with a history like that you might not even get renewed next time...

PearlTSX
Just to jump into this post...

First thing, like its been said earlier. Try to get your stunting ticket thrown out or reduced. Maybe hire one of those traffic lawyers (Tickets or Points). It may cost you to get one of them, but it'll be worth it if the stunting doesn't show up on your record.

As for finding insurance. Although someone said earlier that some companies won't offer it to you, I believe that is untrue. It is my understanding that under the new Insurance reforms, noone can be turned away from an insurance company (so you don't have to get stuck with crappy General) However with that in mind, you're probably going to get similar quotes from all the companies because of the grid system.

My advice, call around to every company/broker in the phonebook, it doesn't hurt to check

Cobra_R
well tried to help you but your a arrogant little fucker go kill yourself see what I care

DeathBy240
Whatever you do, DONT HIRE A LAWYER.

Don't try to get your stunting ticket reduced.

Don't look for another insurance company.

Bend over and let the insurance company rape you in the ass like you deserve.

Or, cancel your insurance, and go for a drive. But before you do this PM me your plate number, a description of yourself and your car and your address. Take a bottle of whiskey with you too and pound back half of it, spill the other half in the interior. Drive VERY slow so you don't hurt anyone. I'll make sure all your driving problems disappear for a year.

scooby_dooby
lol, just cause a guy gets a stunting ticket, doesn't make him the devil guys.

cops can be pricks too sometimes.

with that said you pretty much oicked the wrong province to pull that kinda shit, you're screwed now, not much you can do,

like they said, do everything you can to get that stunting ticket thrown out, that's about all you can do at this point.

to answer your original question, NO, there are no people with shitty records getting decent rates on insurance, you will get RAPED, it doesn't matter who you're with.

sneakyCIVIC
yeah i understand how insurance works and im not an idiot. i have a heavy foot, now that my insurance is through the roof i am controlling it,because it is my only way to work and if i lose my liscence or car im screwed,as i dont live in the city or even remotely close to work. as for most of you asshole that are being complete dicks at the moment go to hell for all i car i dont know if you think your funny or what. but you need to grow up. when someone asks a logical question. i dunno maybe your mommy and daddy pay for your insurance or something it doesnt matter to me but just grow up.
once again thanks to anyone who had something decent to say. for now all i can do is just wait till my tickets come off.

ehos
Wait three years. Until then you have 'pay your dues'.

Until then, ANY ticket you get sets you back 3 years. Just remember that, speed, and THREE MORE YEARS! :)

I think the other guys on here are being a bit harsh on you personally. EVERYONE speeds, it's only by providence that you get caught or not.

sneakyCIVIC
yep, i think some poeple are going way oveboard. and yeah i know it takes 3 years for the tickets to come off which is kinda shitty but oh well.

ColinSiR
all i can say is your screwed for trying to find a lower price.
im in the same position, but with ONE speeding ticket 25 over.
now i have to park my car till next summer. but its not to bad, now i can save up and throw more money into it

and cobra r, your assholish .02cents isnt needed here.

ill admit, i speed 99.9% of the time, exept in construction. and i think i can say that for many other people on here to.

do you have collision? cause i know that bumps the shit outta insurance prices. for me im buyin a 92 civic and putting the lowest inurance on it, witch will only be 110$ a month.
