| So when looking at the auction sheets, how much worse is an A2 scratch than an A1 scratch? what's the biggest number they use? Does it go from, for example, U1 for a little teeny dent to U10 where the whole side of the car is caved in? Just trying to get a better understanding of what the marks actually translate to. |

| There is A1, A2, and A3. Each auction house has a different way of grading scratches so its hard to differ between them. A1 are minor though, I barely notice them, you actually have to know theyre there. |

| the A2 scratches are pretty bad, strait through the paint and to the metal, and not small width either. |

I think they can use up to a 4. On a new car an A2 or B2 would be a really big deal, but on a 15 year old car, its not that bad.
IMO, 1's and 2's are not that bad, it's 3's and 4's you have to watch out for. |
