supra 86.5 restoration - Click HERE for Original Thread

accordsir
Welcome to my restoration project. I bought this supra 86.5 in July 2005 as my first rear wheel drive project.

I sold my first project car that was a Honda accord 2 doors. This car was completely custom. At the end, this car was H22a turbo at 7 psi and was putting down 310 whp and 245 wtq and there was place to tune it more to get more of it… fast. Low fives.. My best was 5.4 with bad tires ( winter ).

I didn’t buy the supra to make it a whp monster. Not at all. My plan his to get it back in the best shape it ‘s possible to see an 86.5. I m planning 10 months to arrive at my gold. It could be a little bit more. The reason his I m military and I m going often in the field. I m loosing already setp and oct .I will be in the field.
I want this car to be out by May 2006 at my birthday. It will be a nice present offer to me. I plan to spend around 4 to 5 000 $. I will do all the work to keep the cost low.

What she will look like :

- black with dark blue effect at night

-3” exhaust with 2 resonator and a
magna flow 3 chamber 3” to 2 tip 2 ˝”

-2 ˝” intercooler piping + intercooler
( maybe mine his dent )

-Engine chrome + couple other things

-17” wheel 225/front and 245/back

-Sound system clarion with 4 speaker
6.5 clarion + amplie audiofonic 1000 w +
2 audiobhand sub 12”

-that’s about it.

Saturday and Sunday I have spend around 4 hours to remove everything inside the car. I still have the console to remove this week. I found couple things that will need my attention. The car was before a racing car. That was the use of it before the last owner bought it. The last owner changes a lot of thing on his own. Suspension, brake, engine Jdm full rebuild with a metal head gasket. However, the car needs a lot of attention. Many plastic were broken when they strip the car many years ago. The body is solid. No rust at all. That’s is the most important things to me. I had bad history with rust and my old accord. I will post pictures tonight. I will upgrade my project every time I do something’s.

Stay tune guys
