Ok so i finally got word on the group buy for the engine and hood kits from showngoplus in saskatchewan. if we can get 5 or more people these are the prices hell hook us up with.
Engine kit reguar price $39.99 usd, GB price $35.95 CAN. 25% off, not bad.
Hood kit regular price $59.99 usd, gb pricce $61.25 CAN. 15% off, still pretty decent.
shipping will be 5 bucks for packaging and then the actual shipping cost from melford to here. unfortunately he doesn't have any kits for MK1's right now but he's interested in making one, if someone will help him develop it he'll give it to them for 15 bucks (hood kit).
so for just over 95 + shipping we can get both front and back kits, compared to other places on the web ive seen $240 for both, we're getting a pretty good deal. I don't know the guy selling them, or have any affiliation with him whatsoever, i just want to see this happen at this price. call your mk2 friends, let get them in. so if your in just copy and paste your name on.

| well, as long as everybody's reday i think i'll be ordering the kits on monday, so if you'd like to get in on the gb, well have to arrange to meet this weekend. depending on what happens with the races on friday and the meet on saturday, that will determin what time i head to uc. and for final pricing, we got enough for the engine kits, but not the hood kits, so for the engine kits you will need $40. this will get the kits and most likely pay for the all shipping, if it comes out to be less than you will get the difference refunded. how does that sound to everyone? if you wont be at uc or the meet pm so we can arrange a time and place to meet. |

Just installed the prop rod. Works like a 19 year old virgin!!! So primo! I installed it on the left side above the intake. Strut bracket inwards, frunk bracket inwards, both facing inside. Bracket on strut brace only fits one way, mount the one on the frunk the same way. As for mounting the rod, mount it in the inside, so you are tightening it from the inside of the engine bay. If that makes sense. Clears the rad cap perfectly.
As for closing and opening, couldn`t be any smoother. Hope everyones turns out the same.

| All sorted out. for everyone who didn't know, after i put my strut kit in my engine lid wouldn't open unless i smacked it after pulling the lever in the car. i tried several different mounting positions, greasing, wd-40, and after a good 15 minutes of messing around it dawned on me, adjust the latch. sure enough a couple cranks of the wrench later and voila, works like a charm. so if anybody has problems like me, there's your solution. btw its probably a good idea to spray your latch and hinges with some lube just for maintenance, i noticed everything just worked better/smoother after i did this. |

Just installed mine - works like butter. Nice little addition.
The Cusco bars gave me some minor issues, no biggie, install was pretty straight foward otherwise.
Everything is good in MR2 land.....well, except for a fucked clutch.......and a shitty stock turbo.....and oxidized paint...and... :D |
