no you cant see through houses.
just night vision... infrared is more or less a light mounted on the NVG's which can only be seen with night vision. So when you dont have enough light to amplify with the nvg's eg: stars, moon.. you use infrared.. you can buy infrared glowsticks aswell.
Thermal on the other hand.. You still cant see through houses, but i've watched girls coming out of the gym overseas while on sentry, and you can see bra and g-string outlines because of the temperature difference. |

ok, so say if i were to jump in a trunk of a car, and not touch any of the metal on the car to heat it up, would they see me?

no. but after a while if it was cool outside and the car was parked outside, you would be able to see the trunk of the car a different color.
this is with thermal imagery. but no you would not be able to see your body's outline.
I work with Night vision, IR and thermal optics everyday. |
