Here is the scenario:
Girl takes car for service at a dealership. Girl gets a ride from the shuttle service. Girl gives dealership her phone number and address so that the shuttle can pick her up when her car is serviced.
A week after taking the car in, the shuttle driver phones the girl and asks her out on a date. Driver is using personal information (phone number) that he obtained through work, for personal use (a blatant violation of privacy IMO). Driver scares girl saying things like:
“Every time I drive by your place I think about you”
“Where are you? I’m at you’re work and don’t see you” (she works in a public place)
Girl is creeped out by driver, and mad that he used here personal info to contact her.
Is there anything to be done? Should she just let it pass and not do anything unless he calls back? Should she complain to the dealer? |

| It's pretty obvious that she should be calling the driver's boss. :dunno: |

| Call the friggin dealer and complain and also take notes about the time and content of all the calls from the guy in case she has to contact the police because the guy is stalking her. |

| LAWSUIT!!!!! Personal anguish, fear, stalking and illegal usage of personal information oughta be worth something to the poor girl. The driver used a cell phone to call her, so there's a record of the calls.............. |

Honestly - police report first, then the dealer.
He obviously has issues. At least with the police report you have it all written down BEFORE he comes back because he got fired ..... |

You could call his boss, but he sounds like a nutter....
Maybe just better she tell him point blank to fuck off |

Hmmm... I thought we'd talk to the dealer just to let them know about this guy. Working in a buisness where I have access to a lot of personal info, I know that this guy is way out of line.
I'm not worried about him being a stalker or anything yet, it was just one call with a few creepy comments. If he never calls back, then I don't think there is anything to worry about.
If worst comes to worst, I can call on my favorite cop, to go stir some shit up. |

Report it to the police - let's face it, no matter how hot your friend is a "normal" individual wouldn't go out and start using information like that to get a date. It would be different if he just hit on her when he picked her up, but he's gone too far. He's gonna get severely reprimanded or fired from this, which will definetely piss him off (And he already has her information....).
You want to prevent this situation from going father, not react to it going farther.
At my job, I have access to the personal information of thousands of young adults, and if I ever abused that power to contact cute girls I know I'd be lucky to escape alive. |

Fine, I'll stop calling. lol
But seriously, I wouldn't worry about it unless he keeps it up. She should just tell him that her b/f will get pissed if he keeps calling and that will probably scare him off. |

I agree with TrevorK though, file the report, talk to the GM of the dealership.
In that order. |

I wouldnt be so sure of that.......My ex had a stalker keep calling her and hanging up. I even answered the phone a few times and got his number off call display and called him back and he kept calling. We had to finally go through the police to gethim to stop. Turns out he was a janitor at the building she worked at.......it was kinda creepy cause he left letters in her mailbox to.
File a police report............if nothing more comes out of it fine....but if he keeps bugging her atleast the police are aware of it and have a record of him doing it. The more events they have recorded the more likely they will do something about it before it gets out of hand. |

Filing police reports? The 'girl' does not think it is anywhere near this level.... a second incident like this.... and maybe, maybe.
She thinks this shuttle driver is of 'lower-IQ' that is, believes he may have a slight mental retardation. Therefore, she feels that she should only go as far as giving the dealership a call about the incident, since it was only once although she was very very bothered by the whole thing.
Will see what dealership does. Will call today... |

^Haha! I guess so....
Anyways, I phoned. Talked to Service Department Manager. Explained what happened. Explained why I was upset. Finally, said, I felt like I could never go back despite being happy with service otherwise.
I was told pretty much that "he would be talked to".
I had to ask if I would be called back to see the 'conclusion of this situation'
I'll wait to be called back. If not, I guess I would phone the GM. |
