Interesting "cross" marketing.

Someone who has an issue with the word denomination.

Some rather silly arguments on his site.

bigmack000
i am so confused

snugs
The doctrine of the denomination was dominated by the doctor. :p

REFLUX
I think the main point behind this website is that God is God is God is God.

That even though there are so many different religions & subsections of those religions, they all follow the same God.

So if they all follow the same thing, why is there division amongst & between them?

Bottom line:
Look at the big picture.

This is why I'm pegan. I personally can't believe in a religion that causes wars among them selves to say our version of god is better then yours, or god loves us more and to prove it we will beat you in a war. JMO

That's kind of the point this guy is trying to make. There is a lack of trust in a group who puts the power that belongs to God into the hands of men (or so they think). I agree with the point of view entirely. I chose to go the non-denominational path a few years ago, because I saw how much red tape man was tangling up the faith with. It's the more false doctrines that gain the faith their bad reputation (Crusades anyone? How about the anti-Harry Potter peeps?).

No wonder we're the religion who lost the respect of its own people.

And it's Pagan. ;) Which Pagan, if you don't mind my asking? Paganism is pretty broad, and has covered the planet at diferent points in time. It's a type of religion more than a defined one. American First Nations were Pagan, as were the Celts (pre-roman), many African nations, etc.

Non-denominational Christian, although I'm agnostic over a few issues. The Bible has to be viewed with context in mind, and some events seem a like parables that were translated as fact. Also take into consideration the conditions in which a lot of these verses were put to parchment. Who wrote it, who scribed it, who translated it, and what, if any, were their agendas when they did so. The whole book has a lot of red tape.

I don't believe in god it's a book written and then people believed it cause they had nothing else to believe in. As for religion it just causes wars so what's the point?

This is just my own opinion and I am not trying to insult anyone or whatever by saying it. It's my opinion. Thanks

It's a pretty common opinion, and you can't be blamed for it. But it would be nice if people could realise that religion never caused a war. Fanatics cause war. As this site points out, fanatics with false doctrine cause war. In all my days, I've never seen a Bible pick up a gun. Remember, one of the most solid beliefs is the commandment 'Thou shalt not kill'. Now if we all did what religion told us (in this case) it would be a pretty boring war, no death and all.

 Why do you think I don't have a church to go to anymore? My faith is in the truth. I just haven't figured it all out yet (neither has anyone else). ;)

Most of the religions that fall under the pegan name sake have pretty much the same views as they believe that everything has a spirit and there are many gods and not just one, plus the fact that everything happens for a reason, but can be changed. but I fall under the wicca religion. The one major thing that gets me is you see people who are hard core catholics and christians and they think that everyone should believe there religion. Hell I 've seen some tell people that they have lost there way in life because they are not christian or catholic. and pray for them. I don't push my religion on others and I don't like when people do it to me. From my view the catholic and christian religions are more of cults then anything, and some of the ten commandments are taken from the wiccan redeand other religions.
Just for everyones info this is my opion and I am intideled to it. If you want to yell at me for it then I won't respond but if you chat with me about it in a civil manor then I will discuss my views with you and be open minded all I ask is you be the same.
thank you

Sheesh, that's all I ask for. And these cult like Christian religions are a result of centuries of splits, and false doctrines. Christianity itself is not so much a cult, though if you choose to see it that way, every religion could be considered that. Actually, if you look up the word cult, it pretty much means doctrine, or loosely religion itself.

As for the ten commandments coming from the wiccan rede, that's impossible, since wicca was founded and organized in the early 50's. My wife follows (studies) the same religion, so I've had plenty of time and opportunity to discover it. Wicca, which is based mainly on Celt paganism, is not a very old religion at all. An infant, really. Its roots are not, and those roots are what intrest me most. :) After all, my people were those Celts who had their earth based religion before the Romans arrived.

silvermist
from What I have studied the religionitself has been around for centuries and has recently been sub catorgized into the wicca name. from my experinces driudism, native american, etc have alot of similar beliefs. And I do believe all religions are basicly a cult in someway shape of form. again my opion. but again christainity is like the only religion who have had some many wars caused in the name of there god. You see my beliefs are not really catorized into one type of peganism. I useally tell people wicca because most of what I belive is found in wicca but I also believe in some of the native american parts of religion. Hell if you look at wicca there is like 50 differant sub sections to the religion.
I think if we are going to continue I think we should either start a new tread or do it over pm.
