How hard is it to fix rusted rockerpanels?! Or rust that goes around the wheel wells?! These pieces haven't rusted through but I would like to not have them do that if I can help it!

Rust is known as the "cancer" of cars, and for good reason. You have to sandblast or cut all of it off/out. Or, you can treat it to Tremclad. :D

Okay so if it's cut out... will it wreck the substructure of the car or weaken anything... how bout cause me any unwarrented problems that I won't be expecting?

Same questions go for, what if I don't fix that little bit of rust for a bit... does that make the car unsafe?!

As long as you don't cut away any of the frame you should be fine.. use fiberglass to repair the wholes because bondo will pust out and you will have the same problem all over again. You can actaualy get match paint at canadian tire in little cans.. its not touch up its in a airisol can.. it actually is pretty close to prefect to.. I know because I used it on my GFs corrolla. 84

hmm... i've never really heard that term.

but the association is uncanny. damaging to either bodies, spread of growth, and hard to remove. but your car doesn't necessarily die.

quite true analogy... but crude nonetheless.

btw.. you have a pic of how bad the rust is.

redbaron honestly just take em off the car and replace em with new ones... you'll cut out the rust.. use tremclad... braze in new light-weight steel and then use body filler and sand it up to look great... you'll miss one spec of rust and it'll bleed like a bitch.... I had to replaces the ones on my Jag when they rusted, it's safer that way and it's not THAT expensive :P

I do have a pic but dont know how to upload to the net.... so I can't show it on here....

Here are some pictures of what I was talking about.... the first two are captured from under the front drivers door, and the thirds is the front passenger quarter panel. Is something like this really expensive to fix if it hasn't rusted through... and what if it has?!
