It's all about the villain.
Crappy villain = poor showcase of a superhero
a superhero has his inventory of crime fighting skills, now they need a good enough villain to make sure the superhero uses those skills to full potential & in an interesting way
ex.
Shitty villain:
Bank robber gets biffed by superman, the end.
Good villain:
One that provides a challenge to superman, one that doesn't soley rely on kryptonite to put the caped crusader out of commission. |

| that trailer was so hurting, but i like how their tryin to bring superman back to the big screen... just not with this. and i agree with REFLUX i havent really seen too many villains to match Clarks abilities. and i checked a site, season 5 begins on Thursday September 29, but as far as local channels im not sure. |

IMO there's not enough there in the teaser to form the basis of an opinion one way or the other.
I'd say have some faith... it is being directed by Bryan Singer (X-Men 1 & 2), AFAIK, which is a good thing. |

Too many stupid movies in general.
Check out the movies playing now. Not ONE original idea, it's all remakes or stolen ideas/book adapts etc.
I'm glad movies are tanking, they make the same shit over and over. AND to add to the pile, Marvel is going to make 10 (YES TEN!) new superhero movies.
Give me a break. I would see Captain America (on DVD, who's going to pay full price for a movie now?), but ANT MAN, please. (And I'm a huge MVL fan).
They're thinking of doing "Captain America, the Avengers, Nick Fury, Black Panther, Ant-Man, Cloak & Dagger, Dr. Strange, Hawkeye, Power Pack and Shang-Chi"

I've always disliked Marvel. Too much quantity over quality.
DC, Dark horse, etc. all the little guys put out stuff that is leagues better than Marvel. Stan Lee is a money making fiend it would seem, crossovers, cheesy limited edition covers, etc.
Everyone has their stinkers, but Stan seems to put out more than anyone. |

Stan Lee doesn't work for Marvel. He hasn't worked for MVL for a few years now. In fact, he parted ways and sued Marvel for backpay :)
So, don't really know where you're going with your anti-Stan Rant.
PS Stan Lee IS the man. It's the reason why MVL sucks now (he's gone). Just so you know. |

Ah, well that would certainly explain a few things... Last time I went into a comic store was nearly 10 years ago.
I never liked Mavel back then either, that was one of the reasons I moved away from marvel. They just seemed to put out crap, so my anti Stan rant stands.
Is it business as usualy even now then?. |
