Do we really need WTB in the car sale forum? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Mr.DC5
Alright, folks
I'm sickening to look at those WTB threads in the car sale forum for months and I started wondering what other people think of them.

So my question is..

Do we REALLY need WTB threads in the car sale forum when there are tons of cars for sale if you are not so lazy about finding your own ride?

I don't see the point of posting the WTB threads besides laziness.

When people post some cars on the WTB thread..all of them(well maybe not all of them but more than 90%) are already posted somewhere for sale!!

I'm not sure if you have to pay to be a sponsor here. If so, the import car sponsors on this board could also get disadvantaged by those WTB forums in my opinion.
Because by posting WTB forum, there could be some people who are not sponsors on the board offer you unseen jdm cars and make profit that way without bothering being a sponsor.

So I think we should have no WTB threads in the car sale forum.

Post your serious opinions on this.

I vote yes.

because as a seller you want your thread to stay on the first page, which can get notice more.

but as a buyer, server. making another thread take less work then to make 10s, 20s reply "still for sale?"

yes.. if u dont like what you see dont look at that forum.. it doesnt make an importer lose sales because you cant sell cars on here unless you pay to be a sponsor... u can only sell as a private seller and if ur caught selling multiple vehicles im assuming ur banned anyways

I agree. For the most part the WTB's are mostly people too lazy too search the site, or better yet, search Canada Trader. Do they want other people to go look at the cars and make offeres too??

The only time I think it is acceptable is when someone is looking for something very rare, but that usually isn't the case.

You even prove my post. LAZY

And I highly doubt mostly people looking for a car are looking at 10-20 different cars in the classified section. When I was looking for a car last month, there was only like 2 that I was remotely interested in.

WTB are a waste of time for both sellers and buyers.

It proves the buyer is lazy (how hard is it to search for a car with an internet connection?),

or the buyer (potential) is just wasting time. That's my biggest peeve. You see soo many 'dreamers' post 'WTB' YET THEY NEVER BUY! What's the point?

Sellers have thier time wasted, plus they get their hopes up for no reason.

MOST WTB posters usually never buy! And they keep asking questions about cars for sale (shouldn't they be doing their own due diligence elsewhere??)

Kill it, and clean up the marketplace.

It's called 'PM'. Also, if it doesn't say 'SOLD' or something, then assume it's still for sale and PM the seller!

I have posted up the odd WTB thread and had great success. Often there are guys considering selling cars/parts but arent too sure. When they see a WTB thread for the item they have they PM me.

It was because of a WTB thread that the NECC has probably found a track car.

However, I do think it can be overused and annoying. Look at all the "WTB: Winter beater" posts on beyond.ca.

But I don't support getting rid of WTB posts. Maybe a separate forum?
