chances are the waiters wont know, and the managers or such that do know probably wont want to tell anyone as it might hurt sales...

seeing as they have advertisments on the table, on the menu, and you can see the various brands behind the counter, they know.

geikkikan (sp?) is pretty standard fare, about 11-13 bucks a bottle and best served warm.

what is sake anyways? ive never had it, yet ive been to jap restaurants so many times...

PraxRX7
rice wine I believe.

BananaBoy
Sake is a fermented rice liqour that is used like wine. It's alcohol is about 15% It can be served warm or chilled.

Do you want Cali sake or Japan sake?

Almost every thing you find here is from Cali, and it's inferior compared to the real stuff. "real" Japan sake is imposible to find.

Gekkeikan is a made in Cali in it's the most common brand around here. They also make a sweet plum wine that nice.

Try looking at Royal Liqour on the north side of Lucky 97 on 97 and 107th ave, and the 123 Liqour at 105 and 123 street.

Yes, both of these store are nasty on the outside and you have to dodge the panhandler on the way in, but, you'll be suprized to see the disply of $1000 bottle of conac and $200 bottles of Bordeux. Not exactly brown bag beverages. They carry alot of super high end stuff and a bit of the odd ball stuff so you might have good luck finding what your looking for.

Please tell you if you find a good Jap sake.

Happy siping :blue:
