| Anyone buying it? And what do you think of it just bought EA NHL 2006 today going to be playing it sometime this week. I got the ps2 version and for the reviews the plus is it says it comes with the old school ea NHL 94 game also (Sega Genesis version). |

| NHL 94 was the shit. I remember playing that on the old Sega. Nothing better than watching blobs skate around shooting a black circle. |

Back to the review EA NHL 2006 is decent setting up goals in the offensive zone got easier. The new feature where momentum plays a factor in yourplayer boost is ok but you have to get used to it if you're the kind of guy that used to always hold down the boost button.
I've always loved the dynasty mode and like th fact there there is budget involved finally a bit more realistic. Even when you create a player the player's salary goes up depending on his skill. There is also a pracic arena where you can play shiny/every man for himself mode.
The minus i defense is downgraded which i don't like if you mastered it i can see it being a 20 - 1 game or so.
Goalie boost needs to be put up in order to make it a more defensive game.
Overall i give it an 7.5 out of 10 |

2K6 offers alot of really good new moves that really feel realistic.
NHL 06 has better menu's, slicker ice, maybe little better gfx, and 06 has up to date rosters, 2k6's rosters are ollllllldddd...
06 is more Arcade-ish, 2k6 is more like a sim
2K6
- Flawless backwards skating at any time by holding the left-trigger
- Button-mapped passing (click R and pass by button icon, perfect for a 3 or 4 pass combo, or cycling on the powerplay, no more passes to the wrong guy! hit any icon twice to do a onetimer)
- one timer pass-backs
- Ability to hook/slash or hold, will get penalties if caught
- ability to pin and hold against the boards
- Give and Go! - use white button to pass and the CPU will take the puck, press white again and the CPU passes back to you for a one-timer (if CPU gets a great shot he'll take it)
- Automatic wrap-around attempt (just hit x when behind the net for a wraparound attempt)
- On-the-fly team commands - hit the d-pad to tell your guys to clear the puck, charge the net etc, works great |

i really like NHL 06, haven't play 2k6. Once the first regular season game starts 06 rosters will be fully up to date, i have no clue if 2k6 is doin that or not.
I really like NHL 06 kinda sucks u gotta learn a lot more button then 05, so i wish they didn't do that. But i like how the dekein is back from NHL 94, its not as easy but itmakes it better now that u can actually score on a breakaway or a 1on1 more often.
either way i suggest go out and get 06 if u really like hockey :D |

Put it to hard game setting its impossible what i like is that the ontimer and even the deaking you need to make sure you got the puck on the top corner or above the sprawling goalie or he will save it which is pretty cool. Hard mode is pretty hard to score its crazy. |

Yeah same POX i wish they had that. yeah on hard scorin aint easy but its always been that way. I always play medium to start then once i beat the computer consitantly on medium i switch up . That just cause i really hate loosin ;)
On note of games, has anyone played or seen Madden 06 yet? im thinkin of gettin it but need to know if its worth it. |

if you think 06 is complicated you should try 2k6, it's crazy the amount of shit you can do. but it works very well.
Madden06 is pretty cool, the new "cone" passing feature is much more realistic, but hard to get used to. |

| Madden 06 is a good game. However there is very little difference between this game and last years version with the exception of the qb vision control. |
