Ok, a wierd one here, China Lily soya sauce. Does anybody know where you can still buy it? My local stores don't have it anymore, I've check Safeway and Save-On in Edmonton.. they don't either...they have China Lily water chestnuts and such, but no soya sauce.
I've tried other brands, I've found one I like better to cook with, but for dumping on Stir fry or Chinese food, I still like China Lily.
So um ya.. any help? And please don't say do a door to door in China town(of stores I mean).
Thanks |

whats funny is my friend works at sobeys, and a couple weeks ago he told me a bunch of people asked him if they sold that particular brand of soy sauce, he didnt know what to say so he told them it was discontinued. |

Ya.. thats what it seems like, I was raised on that brand. heh.. the stores here got in 2 or 3 diff brands and pulled the china lily sticker off the shelf.
Next time I'm in the city, I'll stop by Lucky 97 and if they have it I think I'll stock up.
Lee Kum Kee is the one I found better for using to cook my meat and mushrooms. But it doesn't taste the same or as ood for putting on the finished product.
Wing's the little packets you get when you buy take out tasted very similar too, but I have yet to see a bottle you can buy of it.
Thanks again. |

| Superstore has it occasionally. Sometimes they've been out of it for months, but it seems to return every once and awhile. Sometimes they just have the refill bottles, I would check them out. |

I work at Sobeys: Ready To Serve part time (Belmont - Edmonton) and I wanted to note that i've been working there for 5 months and everybody asks about it constantly. Only recently have people slowed down asking about it.
According to my supervisors and managers we havn't had a bottle of it for nearly a year. so this sentence makes no sence
quote: Only to be told “Family Issues” are causing problems with the company and they currently aren’t producing/shipping product.
The facts my store tells me is that its been discontinued. Something to do with the plant. (fire/bankrupt) There have been times when we have been told China Lilly was to come back (early july/Late june) by being made by another manufacturer. China Lilly never did. So i would take the fact that it may come back in september with a grain of salt. |
