Ph@lip
Ok i drive an 85 supra wanting to throw a 7mget in. Dont have the ballz to do it myself (most likely something would go wrong) So who or where in edmonton could i talk to to install the beast for me?? Planning on getting front clip...

F.Y.I its phatlip (ph@lip) thanks

ChromeDragon
If you look in the clubs section there is an Edmonton supra club, they should be able to point you in the right direction.

Supra_devil
i can't do it for you, don't have the facilities right now.

however i can help you on install, then all you need to do is get wiring made, or buy the wiring conversion kit. installation is very easy, i can do it in a good day.

look on celicasupra.com, the biggest mk2 supra resource on the net.

And join the club man, you won't be the only turbo mk2 in town, lol.

pm me or msn me at life_devil@hotmail.com i can help you with any questions.

EDIT: PS: is this the black 85, with 15" enkeis that stopped by our car show?

CanuckDave
yes, check out the Edmonton Supra club, www.supraclub.ca there are many people on there who are more than willing to help you out with your questions. right now I'm working on a 6m-gte project, and I have worked on 7Ms and 5Ms before, so if you need any help working on it when it comes to that myself and others will definitely be able to give you a hand.

do read up on celicasupra.com (particularly the 5/6/7m-gte forum, where quite a few others have done the same swap, all the information you could need there.

theres a walk through of the process here:
http://www.celicasupra.com/7mgte/

good luck

Supra_devil
i should mention too, that i know a guy in calgary that could possibly make the harness for you, cheaper than anyone else could i'd almost guarentee, and hes doing a 7m 84 so he knows what hes doing.

I would be more than happy to help you with this swap, i may very likely end up doing the same myself one day, and the motor swap part of it i have done many times, the 5m is installed identically.

CanuckDave
yeah it may look daunting, but its not as difficult as you might imagine. hardest part is probably the wiring harness, and actually finding all the parts you'll need (which won't be a problem if you do get a front cut)

Ph@lip
yeah that would be me in the black 85 with 15's lol! Stopped by that sat i believe seen some nice cars! but that just means i will have to do better :blue: yeah im an :asshole: hehe. Starting to really fall in love with this car! Im supra-ized
i have been a nissan man for 6 years now have had 2 240sx and now im driving a supra!!?? Hmmm:drama: But im just looking in to things now so i can start to price everything out and save up for feb/march of next year! But first thing first if this is what imma do i really have to take a look at the frame see whats up. SO thank you all

Supra_devil
its a toyota, not a nissan, the frames really don't rust out  :asshole: . the bodys do though.

your cars not in that bad of shaped so as long as you jump on that pretty soon the car should be good to go, When dave test drove it it didn't make any noises or anything when he was leaving their driveway(rounded curb thing).

Ph@lip
LoL yeah that curd was deadly he didnt tell me about it so i backout and scraped the front bumper that hurt! And i am thinking about coil-overs and new rims want some fat i mean fat tires! even if i have to go with some off road mud guard for side of car to make it legal! She still runs very nice im please with the 3200 i paid for her! She just needs more ummmfffff:cool:

Ph@lip
can anyone tell me if i was to replace the innerds and install new cams how much hp could i get out of 7mget! Have a guy at work i want to race. LoL he only drives a neon you know who u are! lol 8lbs of boost I still want to smell his exhaust next year with his new mods! Im not looking for uber fast just oh shit fast lol!:blue: :fingersx:

Supra_devil
well the 240 hp that the 7m puts out is good.
installed with a better fmic kit from RabidChimp.com, 3" downpipe and exhaust and about 10 psi would be suffiecent for probably the 300hp range. maybe more.
cams aren't really required, most people don't bother, much more worth while to buy a lexus afm, and 550 injectors, and turn the boost up more. only mod i would do that required dissasembly would be an HKS metal head gasket and ARP head studs.

Baby steps man, baby steps, get it in first.

My guy in calgary said he is willing to make you a harness, just needs to know whay year motor it is. So that will make the car an almost plug in swap.

BTW its 7m-GTE not GET.

Supra_devil
For more info i suggest going on our club site at

http://www.supraclub.ca/modules.php...&file=index

sign up on the forum and make a post, i can load it full of info like mad and talk to you about what it is you want to do.

PS i still need to take you for a ride in my car to show you what a suspensioned mk2 feels like, lol.

Supra_devil
well it looks like i am turboing as of now, blew up the suicide hose at the bud tonight, so i may be able to show you what a turbo mk2 with some suspension can do, lol.

but it may be a couple weeks, lol.

Ph@lip
would the correct responce be sweet or sorry about the suicide hose!!?? hehe Well its all a matter of time for me! But i have a goal! 13.4 in 1/4 and i belive a stock 7mgte can do it!

Supra_devil
13.4 on a stock 7m mk2.

i know a couple guys i can ask next time their on msn. i'll see what they ran.

Supra_devil
OK, talked to the people that make harness' for this swap.

$350 US, don't know much about it
$450 US and supply harness plugs, (completely plug and play i believe)

or $400 CAD from my guy in calgary. Says he may need an 85 wiring harness diagram.
guy in calgary will make it, sent with wires labeled so the harness can be soldered in, or plugs added to make it all plug in to the mk2 harness.

If you want any contact info for these people jusy pm me and i'll let you know.

Supra_devil
talked to a friend who recently did this swap, said low 14's stock.

So do some goodies when you install it, run 9-10 psi and you should hit the mid 13's like you want pretty easily.
