to make a long story short...today I let a friend of mine drive my car around in an empty parking lot and well he stalled it...no prob right?...well he forgot the car was turbo timed so he acted on his reflex of stalling a car and turned the key will the motor was on and it made that noise when you over turn a motor..."ERRRRRR" and it was my reflex to hit him as hard as I could...:D but i was wondering did he damage the car in anyway?:(
anyways, I learned not to let anyone drive my baby anymore! |

That noise you hear is your starter trying to engage an already turning flywheel. You CAN damage something, but not very often usually it's just the noise you hear and thats it. You'll be ok. |

He probably meant almost stall. On a manual transmission car, its quite easy to stall or almost stall if you are inattentive or lazy on the pedals. |

| Ok. I usually hear that as 'bogging' or 'chugging'. As far as I knew, 'stall' means the engine has actually stopped.:) |

Keep comments like that to yourself, you don't need to mock people. All I see coming from you is negative shit. Not 1 of your posts has anything useful to offer, so get a life before you get banned, fucktard. |

Hi ~300Z~
I would not worry about it. What was done will not do alot of damage if any at all. If it is a continious turning the key while the engine is running then all you are doing is reducing the life of your starter. I have had the opprotunity to do that a few times. Mainly with my old Sentra. I would forget the car was running in the winter after I had used my remote stater and out of force of habit complete the motion to turn it over. This is always a nice wake up call as I end up looking like a fool while at the same time making this noise that is horible enough to wake up the dead.
Congrats on only hitting your friend and not commiting 1st degree murder.

| The only thing it does is wear out the ring gear on the starter and some teeth on the flywheel.. Not NEARLY long enough to do serious damage.. There will be some flakes of metal that came off but it's minute,.. so don't worry about it... |
