Everyone knows that the key to success with autocross is seat time. That's why we've decided to have a small event limited to ten participants who will then get a chance to really tune their driving skills in as many runs as we can get in. You can expect 20+ runs easily from this event. Novices are encouraged and will be given preference, though a first-reply basis is also given priority as well. The track will be changed up throughout the day to give you a chance to try out new things and get a real handle for autocross.
This will take place on September 24, 2005. Racing will be held at Namao, so pre-registration is necessary. This will provide an excellent opportunity for novices to get out there and refine skills or allow you to tune your driving to giv eyou that extra edge in the final events of the season that will be coming up.
Cost is $100 for the day. A $150 first place prize will be given out at this event, based on 10 participants.
Contact Jason at 708-5027. Please post questions so that everyone can see them. |

Do to popular request on bringing down the price:
There will no longer be a $150 first place and price will be decreased to $80. ANyone who autocrosses should know that's a good deal for 20+ runs. |

Exactly and we were fed as well.
Its a small field you are offering there which would ensure a large number of runs, but the same can be had with even more cars and hopefully reduced cost. Even $80 is a bit steep. RX7 club membership $30 + $40 for the event is $70.
Not trying to rain on your parade but at that price even me a confirmed autox addict would walk away. |

Ah, points taken. The reasoning behind having only 10 people was to ensure a higher number of runs on several different tracks. Working things out, yes, it is possible to have more runs, and that is what we are expecting. 20+ was the number given out to be safe.
But we would have run two run groups of 5 for 45 mins each on a 50-70 second course. You guys do the math and it should come to far more than 20+ runs. Judging from red deer, where there were more around 15 people per run group, we were getting in 4 runs on a 45 min interval.
I have discussed this with the people already signed up and they say they will be happy if no more than 15 people are present.
That would decrease the price to $50/per person and should ensure still high run numbers.
This will go on regardless of the number of people that are going to attend, unless somethin goes wrong on the NECC side of it. This is because I need to tune my suspension and I have no real other opportunity to do so after this until next season. Either way, I will not have a chance to properly familiarize myself with a course to fine-tune my suspension and then to fine-tune my driving. The price will neither change regardless of the number of people attending.
We will need to know relatively soon, so please let us know. And thanks to those with feedback! |
